Zombies + Durability Damage

I died to an NPC as a zombie and noticed that I took durability damage. Is this intended? It seems... rather discouraging to try to attack others in a city if you're just going to get owned by guards and then lose durability. :(

I just take off all my gear. Your gear stats will not help you as a zombie.
