Important before reading:
This service is not designed in any way, shape or form, to accommodate the transfer of Accounts, or Account specific information (Characters, items etc) between different users, regardless of their relationship.

Please note that the First Name, Last Name, Secret Question, and Secret Answer on an account cannot be changed. In addition, the account name itself cannot be changed or reset. It is not possible to "wipe" an account or to re-use an Authentication Key for any reason. Once the key is used once and the account is created, that is permanent.

Character transfers are intended only between accounts which are registered to the same user. You will be required to verify both accounts, and the last name on each account must match. At this time it is not possible to bypass this restriction, even amongst friends and family.

1. What notifications should I be ready for during my transfer process?
First, you will recieve an email acknowledging that you are submitting a Paid Transfer, which is currently PENDING. The email will include characters being transferred and a request to double check the disclaimer and guidelines. Second, you will recieve an email notifying you that your character has been processed and ready to transfer. Finally, you will recieve an email to congratulate you on a successful transfer and that your credit card has been charged.

2. Where do I move my character to a different account?

3. My guild is planning to transfer.
At this time, there are no group discounts for guilds to transfer to another server. Also, you should consider the outcome of the world server that may result in your guild's departure.

4. I just married or legally changed my name, how do I match last names legally?
Being married, in no way allows for an exception to the paid Character Transfer service.
This be updated, should the need arise (marriage, legal name change etc) and there is very specific documentation needed to accomplish this. To obtain the form, it is necessary to contact the Billing Department.

5. Why is my post regarding Paid Transfer being locked or deleted?
This forum is used to help with in-game support, and the in-game support department is not involved in making decisions regarding the Paid Transfer. If you still have an unanswered question then post it in this thread, otherwise send feedback to the Suggestions Forum. Also, please read the forum guidelines.

6. Why is my transfer taking longer than it says on the Average Waiting Time?
Please note that the average wait time is an average, not a guarantee. Transfers share traffic with World Servers, which has priority of transfers. Sometimes, servers may face high volume of traffic, and the transfers will have to lose some bandwidth because of that. To check on the status of your transfer, log onto your Account Manager, then go to your Paid Transfer menu (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/character-transfer-status.html).

7. Why am I recieving a 404 Error while trying to log into the Account Management?
Account Management is connected to the same hardware as some realms which may have recently crashed. Check again now and then while the issue is resolving within the next one to three hours. Also, peak hours are when world servers and the main website are hit with high traffic, and at these times it may be more difficult to access World of Warcraft.

8. X server was set for transfer today, why has it not opened yet?
Before a realm can open, the performance and population of that server has to be monitored as well as the current eligible realms to make sure any issues do not occur. Please remember, the schedule for realm transfers are estimated, and are subject to change due to server instabilities, high traffic and bandwidth, and any unseen force. If the server has not opened on its scheduled date, rest assured Blizzard is working diligently to open it as fast as possible.

9. Why does my page refresh when I try to Finish my character transfer?
The loop that you are experiencing is caused by using a card that is unable to process. In this case, it will be necessary for you to use a different card in order to complete the process. If you are receiving an invalid credit card message, try using a different card.

10. What if I lose data from a transfer?
Restoration will not be possible for items or quest progress lost during the transfer process. This includes items but is not limited to items in the inventory, bank, mailbox, and auction house, or honor contribution points. These items, if lost, will not be restored under any circumstance. There is a possibility you could lose your honor or current rank in the Player-vs-Player Honor System while your character is inactive or after the transfer. Quests that require you to kill a certain number of monsters will be lost.

11. New Server cooldown period.
New servers will now have a 6 month transfer eligibility, increased from 3 months. This has been changed due to popular feedback.
