Authentication Key Code Question

Okay, so basically, I started playing WoW a few months ago; I recommended it to my IRL friend after about a month, thereafter he bought the game himself + the expansion, upgraded his guest account, and now we play the game.
The thing is, he upgraded his account LITERALLY 1-3 days before the "Recruit-A-Friend" program came out. So, naturally, we're pissed off about it.

Time passed, and it's time for him to renew his subscription to WoW, so we were wondering, instead of him using his prepaid card on his current account, is there any way he can have his account "canceled", so that his Authentication Key Codes will once again be valid, (considering our circumstances) so he can create a new account linked to my own through the Recruit-A-Friend program?

I mean it's only fair, the rules for the Recruit-A-Friend program state that you must recruit a friend, which is exactly what I did, only days before the thing program came out. So honestly, I don't see why we shouldn't be allowed to do this.

If it's possible, how would we go about doing this?

*edit*
I was just going to call customer service / billing service about this, but the WoW website is down for the 10th time since last Tuesday, so I'm unable to get the phone number.

...And what I'm asking is would it be possible for them to delete his current account so that he may make a new account using the same key codes from his previous one. That would constitute as a new account.

I'm sorry, Kudin, but no. A authentication key can only be used once, the account can not be deleted and the key used to create a new account.

And that would be a punishment, considering we'd have to pay $70 in order to get the benefits of the program, when we should've been able to receive them in the first place.

I'm sorry if you feel that it is a punishment that your friend missed out on the benefits of the Recruit a Friend promotion. Please understand that this is a promotion and such promotions have start dates. These aren't benefits that you "should have" been able to receive in the first place, you and your friend received exactly what you signed up for. He received an authentication key to create an account when he purchased the retail game and I hope you also had a good time while playing the game.

No, the rules state that you must use the Recruit-A-Friend program to send an invite to your friend, they must use the authentication key in that e-mail to create a trial account. You did not do this. If you had you would have qualified for the previous Recruit-A-Friend promotion.

I am sorry, Kudin, but if you wish to enjoy the benefits of the RaF program you will need to use the RaF invite system and create a new Recruit -A-Friend trial account.
