Ongoing Issue - Missing Pets & Mounts
Status: Resolved. Restoration still progressing.

Update, 7:30am PDT: If a petition created regarding specific pet or mount loss has been closed prior or after escalation with no information or resolution provided, please resubmit with the list of data detailed below included therein. After resubmitting—and only if your petition was closed incorrectly—please send an email to wowgmfeedback-us@blizzard.comso that we may learn of your experience.

We are continuing to provide restoration on a case-by-case basis. Please accept our sincere apologies if you've encountered any difficulty during this process.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During initial realm instability (as a result of Patch 3.0.2), many players experienced a loss of their pets and mounts after attempting to transition each to the new interface and spell system. Although the core issue resulting in this loss has been resolved, restoration is not yet complete. We are still working to restore missing pets and mounts at this time.

If any of your characters are still missing a pet or a mount, please submit an in-game petition at your earliest convenience. Include the following:

    - Character Names
    - Character Realms
    - What's Missings (All pets, all mounts, one pet/one mount, etc); be specific
    - When these spells were learned

Created petitions may need to be escalated in order to verify your loss. In turn, escalated petitions may require some time to address, so please do not worry if you do not receive an immediate response. With this, please do not close a petition once it's escalated.

Should you receive your pets via in-game mail before your petition is addressed, please feel free to edit or close your petition accordingly.

Thank you so much for your continued feedback and patience!

Ongoing Issue - "Stuck" Characters
Status: Ongoing

It has come to our attention that some players are becoming "stuck" during game play. This can take several forms: being stuck in limbo, floating in space, trapped on terrain, stuck at a loading screen, or the inability to remain online with a particular character for more than a few moments.

First, we'd like to apologize if you find yourself stuck for any reason. We know how very frustrating this can be, and you have our sincerest sympathies. Our priority is certainly to get you back to enjoying World of Warcraft as soon as possible. Unfortunately, to our regret, we are unable to resolve these issues via forum reports.

All is not lost, though! If you are actually able to log into the game, but are stuck in 'limbo', then you may be able to free yourself with some help. You could try one of these resolutions:

    • Ask a friendly Warlock to summon you.
    • Ask friends to summon you at a level-appropriate Meeting Stone.
    • Ask a friend to form a party with you and, then group-queue you into a battleground. This resolution will sometimes function even if you are dead!

If these prove ineffective, leaving you are unable to log-in, or unable to remain online upon logging in for any length of time, then it would be best to submit an in-game petition from a different character on the same account. When doing so, including the following format should help our Game Masters assist you more speedily:

    • Always use the "Stuck" category when you submit this kind of petition.
    • Include the name and realm of the stuck character.
    • Include where your character was before they got stuck
    • Describe the specific nature of how you are "stuck" (i.e., "unable to remain connected," or "stuck at loading screen").

Once again, please accept our deep apologies for any inconvenience. We hope that you're able to get back into the game very soon!

Ongoing Issue - Recruit-A-Friend "Grantable" Levels
Status: Resolved

Update, 10/21 1:00pm PDT: Status changed to "Resolved."

Levels gained through Recruit-A-Friend system prior to patch 3.0.2 should now be restored.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update, 10/20 9:00pm PDT: Status changed to "Active. Resolution pending."

We are aware that players have been experiencing difficulty awarding levels through the Recruit-A-Friend program and will be implementing a potential solution as a result. This issue should be addressed with tomorrow morning’s scheduled maintenance. All gifted levels that have not yet been received (or are not presently accessible) should automatically be restored tomorrow.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It has come to our attention that players are presently unable to grant levels achieved through the Recruit-A-Friend promotion prior to Patch 3.0.2. We have made our Quality Assurance team aware of this issue and they are actively working to resolve it as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, we do not yet have an ETA to provide at this time. Please stay tuned for updates as they are provided.

Ongoing Issue - Big Blizzard Bears
Status: Resolved. Restoration provided case-by-case.

Update, 10/20 3:00pm PDT: Moving status of issue to "Resolved. Restoration provided case-by-case." The underlying issue has been addressed. Any new codes generated should operate without issue. Restoration is continued to be provided upon reception of an in-game petition for those still experiencing the error.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It has come to our attention that (due to recent realm and database stability issues) many players are experiencing difficulty retrieving their Big Blizzard Bear mounts from in-game vendors. The result is the reception of the message,"Cannot Validate Code."

Should you be encountering this issue, please submit an in-game petition as soon as possible and format it as follows:

    - State that you have an issue with a Big Blizzard Bear redemption and list what happened when you went to claim this mount in-game
    - Include the character and realm on which you wish this mount to be redeemed
    - Note (or reiterate) that this is a redemption—not a mount or pet loss—issue

For example: "When I attempted to redeem my Big Blizzard Bear mount using the code I received from the promotional web page, I received the error message: 'Cannot Validate Code.' The character I wish this mount to be redeemed on is <Character Name> on <Character Realm>. Note: This is NOT a pet or mount loss issue, but one related only to redeeming my BlizzCon-provided mount."

Make sure that you list the petition's category as "Talk to a GM," as well.

While restoration is not guaranteed, we will do everything in our power to assist. :)

Ongoing Issue - "Transfer Aborted: Instance Not Found"
Status: Ongoing

Update: Further information gathering is presently ongoing within our Bug Report Forum, found here:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's been brought to our attention that many players are receiving the error message "Transfer Aborted: Instance Not Found" when attempting to enter Arenas, Battlegrounds, and instances.

As a workaround, many have noted that simply waiting 10 to 15 seconds before hitting "Enter <Arena>" or "Enter <Battleground>" will prevent the reception of this message. Although we are currently investigating this issue, we encourage you to follow this advice to ensure as much up-time as possible.

Ongoing Issue - Vanity Pets and Darkmoon Card Auctions
Status: Ongoing. Resolution provided case-by-case.

We are currently aware that Vanity Pets and Darkmoon Cards obtained prior to Patch 3.0.2 are unable to be placed on the Auction House, resulting in the message "You cannot auction an item with used charges."

Should you encounter this issue, please submit an in-game petition at your earliest convenience.

Continuous Resetting of Interface Settings, Macros, and Keybindings
Status: Ongoing

We are presently investigating reported issues of one's general interface settings, macros, and keybindings being reset upon each logout. This appears to occur only should one not run World of Warcraft on Vista as an Administrator.

With that said, there is a way to both backup and upload saved macros from one's personal system as needed.

To backup your macros, log in and set up your desired variables. Then, into the chat window type:

    /script BackupMacros()

This will cause your macro list to be saved locally within your **WTF\Account\<Account Name>\<Realm Name>\<Character Name> folder as "macros-cache.txt".

Once saved, you can then upload these settings from your local file to our server by using the following command (again, while logged in and typed into the chat window):

    /script RestoreMacros()

Should you still be experiencing difficulty or uncertainty with this issue—that is, you're unsure how to Run as Administrator, you're not operating on Vista, etc—we encourage you to submit an in-game petition or contact our Technical Support department.

Ongoing Issue - Zul'Aman Timed ("Gong") Event
Status: Active

At present, when a character interacts with the Zul'Aman gong, its hand will gain a purple glow and the model will freeze in the back-swing animation. Provided that no further movement or interaction with the gong occurs from this point forward, the character will continue to "strike" the gong appropriately; the animation, however, will be absent.

To ensure that your group can successfully begin the timed event, you'll want to make sure that each member who "strikes" the gong remains stationary once the purple-glow and back-swing animation begins. Five players in total must participate.

That said, we are still looking into this issue to ensure proper functionality and display.

Known Issues

    - Prayer of Mending is presently creating a looping, perpetual sound where the spell is cast
    - Attempting to mine a node while shapeshifted will cause the mining pick to disappear
    - The "/embarrass" emote is not available at this time
    - Casting Gift of the Naaru on a target with Light's Beacon active will not heal the player with the Beacon of Light buff
    - Buffs and effects provided by Demonic Sacrifice are being removed upon zoning
    - Tooltip for Envenom Rank 3 and 4 displays the same instant damage as Rank 2
    - The mage ability Living Bomb does not currently stack if cast by multiple parties; additional applications of this debuff cause the first to be overwritten
    - Typhoon cannot hit targets at a higher elevation than the caster
    - Vigilance does not transfer threat caused by its target's healing spells
    - Acquiring the talent Aspect Mastery will cause one's Ranged Damage to appear red in the Character screen when Aspect of the Viper is active; effects persists even if Aspect is canceled until log out
    - Glyph of Divinity if presently listed as "Glyph of Lay on Hands" in the Inscription window
    - Male Orc hairstyle "Tail" is not presently not animated and is clipping into character models
    - Elder Ashenvale Bear is currently listed as an Exotic pet; cannot be tamed unless Beast Mastery is talented and cannot be summoned by characters without the ability
    - Currency values are exceeding the size of the Achievement progress bar (Example: "The Bread Winner")
    - When pressing "Cancel' after adjusting action bar settings in Interface options, action bars are not reverting to their previous settings

This list is not comprehensive, though will be continually updated as more information is made available. Please continue to file any new reports within our Bug Report Forum.

Interface and Display Changes

We are happy to announce that the new patch brings a great many excellent features and changes. While these changes offer many improvements, they can also take a little time to learn and adjust to. One of these changes involves how certain user interface options and resets are now handled.

First, as with any major patch, it is a very good idea to completely reset your user interface. As certain options, such as combat text, key-bindings and macros are now stored realm side they will no longer be reset as part of a full user interface reset. In the meantime, to perform a full user interface reset, you can follow these steps, as well as the extra included steps if you also want to reset Interface Panel Options, key-bindings or macros:
Q u o t e:
1) *IMPORTANT* Exit the World of Warcraft to your desktop by logging out of the game and exiting. If World of Warcraft isn't closed, then these steps won't have the desired effect.
2) If you used an "installer" for a custom UI, see if it has an "uninstaller" and use it.
3) Inside the World of Warcraft Program Folder, delete the "WTF," "Cache," and "Interface" folders.
4) Restart your computer.
5) Please do not reinstall Addons prior to testing the issue you were experiencing.
6) Make sure that you are using WOW.EXE or LAUNCHER.EXE to start the game. Please do not run any UI installers beforehand, as we want to eliminate them as part of the issue.
7) Upon launching the game, you should see the Intro cinematic movie and be prompted to agree to the Terms of Use. Once you authenticate past the login screen, the “AddOns” button should no longer be visible at the lower left corner of the character selection screen. Both points mentioned previously must hold true if you should complete the aforementioned steps correctly.

Currently there is an option that can be accessed from the login screen which carries the ‘Reset UI Settings’ label. Please note that this is option will simply reset your configurable UI Options to default, it is not a full user interface reset. The label on this option will likely be changed in a future content patch. Here’s a more detailed explanation:

Q u o t e:
Basic Interface Panel Options Reset:
(Note: This will reset all standard Blizzard Interface Options including those not accessible from the Interface Panel. This WILL NOT remove any installed addons or third party UI mods.)
1) Exit the World of Warcraft by logging out of the game to your login screen.
2) On the login screen, click on the “Options” button.
3) Click on the “Reset UI Settings” button.
4) Click on “Okay” to confirm the base UI options reset.

The standard full user interface reset will no longer reset key-bindings and macros. While under normal circumstances it shouldn’t be necessary to reset these settings, here are the steps you can take if you desire to do so:
Q u o t e:

Macro Removal:
(Note: This must be done in-game. There is no current method of resetting all macros. Macros must be manually deleted one at a time.)
1) Open your “Create Macro” window in-game by going to the options menu in-game and pressing the “Macros” button or by typing in “/macro” (without the quotes) into your chat window.
2) Select the macro tab you wish to remove a macro from (General Macros or the Character Specific Macro tab).
3) Select the macro you wish to delete and click on the “Delete” button on the bottom left hand corner of the “Create Macro” window.
4) Follow the same procedure to delete additional macros.

Key Bindings Reset:
(Note: This must be done in-game)
1) Open your “Key Bindings” window by going to the options menu in-game.
2) Choose whether you want to reset your general key bindings or character specific key bindings by checking or un-checking the “Character Specific Key Bindings” check box in the upper right hand corner of the “Key Bindings” window.
3) Click on the “Reset To Default” button.

Thank you for joining us, and have fun!
