Edit: I did not expect this thread to get so large, so quickly. I would like to say something to the people who will ONLY read this post and then reply without reading the thread:

If I may clarify my intent, the point of this thread is NOT to get a pet for this anniversary. Clearly we haven't gotten one, we aren't getting one, and I don't expect that to change. However, 1) it should have been explicitly announced by a blue that there would not be a pet awarded for this year's anniversary. 2) The timing of the new pet sales is incredibly tasteless.

It was our front page announcement of the anniversary that stated you would only receive a feat of strength.

I'd potentially concede that because we didn't clearly state "You won't get a pet" people still held out some hope, but I also don't feel we were in the wrong by including all of the correct information.

We've never stated that every year we'd give a pet for the anniversary. I realize for the last two years that's been the case, and I do apologize that it created an expectation which wasn't met. I don't though believe we've somehow misled anyone as our announcement was clear and complete in the information it provided.
