Paid Character Transfer Issue

Hey,
Ive been trying since pre patch to transfer my chars from one server to another, ive emptied mail boxes, cleared auctions deleted friends lists and made sure the game was fully logged before i attempted the transfer but everytime i try to get to the disclaimer page after selecting realm destination and char it comes up with " sorry an unexpected error occured"

Ive also tried clearing cache, cookies, temp folders, swapped from firefox to IE and nothing seems to work

Just wondering if this is an actual website issue or is my computer just gimp... which is a big possiblity :-/

Should a fair amount of our realms experience complications, Ordelan, it's very typical for our lateral services (which must gain access to our realms' databases for information) to be temporarily inaccessible. Given the issues many realms are facing presently, this is most likely why you've been unable to complete a Paid Character Transfer.

I'll be happy to check up on this matter, though, and provide you confirmation. :)

While I'm unable to verify individual transfers, I am going to attempt to establish whether or not the PCT service (and similar services) is up and running at this time.

Just permit me a few minutes to get that squared away. :)

Alright. I was just able to successfully initiate a character transfer (and presently awaiting approval), so I've few more questions for each of you—if you would be so kind to oblige!

    1) At what point, specifically, during the PCT/PCNC process did you experience an error message?*
    2) What was the error message (what did it say)?
    3) What browser are you using and have you attempted clearing your cache and cookies/switching to a whole 'nother browser type or version?

Thank you so much!

Q u o t e:
Though it says the transfer is there and approval pending, should i redo it?

You're reading that information off of your Transactions/Status page?

Paid Characters Transfers (and PCNCs) are automated, by the way. Nevertheless, it's always important to ensure there's not a technical complication outside of the realm issues affecting the process, hence my stick-poking. :)

There are a number of Paid Character Transfer requests pending at the moment. This alone is inflating the wait time each of you are viewing at present. As noted previously, I'm attempting to verify right now whether or not these requests are processing. :)

Just to cover all bases (become all of them are belong to me): The status of your character listed on the following page is still on "Approval Pending," yes? :)

Does the issue—the error message—seem to only pop up for destination/source realms on Ruin or Vindication?

Blizzard Post
Stormstrike seems to be having stability issues, as well, though not to degree of that of Ruin and Vindication. Still, this may be related.

I'll relay the information onto our Technicians. :)

Thank you so much for the continuous feedback!

This issue still remains under investigation. We're looking into the destination/source realm selection errors at the moment.

Your character won't actually move until your finalize the transaction and payment. If you've done neither, you're fine, Apheleon. :)

You're absolutely correct. During the approval process, one isn't always able to access the target character. Based upon the information you've personally given me, though, you should be fine. I understand wanting to fully cancel the process, however.

If you're still unable to access the cancellation page from the Transactions section, can you let me know which browser you're using? I'm presently able to log into that page and cancel the transfer (if I needed) without complication. Any error messages received along the way? :)

Given realm instability, Apheleon, it's very likely that our lateral services are being affected, as well. Increased strain on the website is possibly compounding the issue.

This does still remain under review, as we all understand the desire to have your characters available.

Hello folks, I'm sorry for the lack of updates thus far.

We plan for the Paid Character Transfer and Paid Character Name Change service to come back online around midnight tonight PDT.

If we are informed about a delay in bringing the service back online we'll let you know.

Q u o t e:
Will it go down again before I wake up 6:00 am EST? I'd like to transfer a character and waited all night to figure out what was going on. I'd really like to get this done so that my transfer is finished by the time I am done with work and school by 8:30 pm EST.

Once back online the service should remain online.

Wow they do something nice and give use an estimated time for once and you guys act like it's an appointment. Please don't go all crazy if it hits midnight and is still down. That's why they end up not informing us at all. He said there would be an update if it's not up around midnight, just give it some time.

<3

It's almost midnight now but give it a few minutes.

If there is a delay or any other unexpected issue with the service Orylia will provide what updates that she can once I've left.

Once again I knowingly give up my privilege to post on these forums...sigh

anyways will we need to renew our transfers or are they still pending if they were pending before it went down?

That is too bad, Brosnan, hopefully you'll be able to show more restraint next time.

To answer your question though, any transfer that was initiated when the system went down should still be there and either processing or processed.

Check the following link once the system returns.

Still no progress on my character name change....any chance a GM could check for me? Toon is Slycen being changed to Darkscion...

Unfortunately, we cannot see that information friend.

If it appears hung, and you are sure you've finalized (or never got to that part), I would recommend canceling and starting from scratch.
