WoW "Forgetting" Chat Box Opacity Setting

I have three chat boxes that I keep open at all time, all around 50% opacity. When I log in for the first time, two of my chat boxes are at 50% opacity, but the chat box I use for general/trade/etc is at 0% opacity. When I right click it and click on background it suddenly snaps back to 50% opacity and shows the correct setting, so I just have to open up the background settings box and WoW will automatically apply my settings. So, it's not really forgetting my settings, it's just not applying it immediately to one of my chat windows. Why would this happen? It only started happening after the 2.1 patch, before that it was fine.

Thanks,
James

Hello Forma,

Are you using any AddOns by chance? If you are, please try disabling them one at a time and see if that helps. If you have no AddOns installed or the problem persists, please close down WoW and remove the WTF, CACHE, and INTERFACE folders from the World of Warcraft game directory. These folders contain temporary data and frequently altered files that may have become corrupted. This will also remove any custom UI's that may contribute to the problem as well. You will need to recreate the Chat Windows.

You can move these folders to the desktop or another directory if you wish to retain the data, however for now please start WoW without those folders present. Also do not use any third party programs to start WoW; often some custom UI's will place a shortcut for you to start WoW from, please use the (Launcher.exe) in the World of Warcraft directory.

Are you using Vista by chance? There are some known in-game Vista issues:

Q u o t e:
Vista may do a few things that are out of the ordinary when you installed it in the C:\Program Files\ or C:\Program Files (x86) folders - it may either not apply your settings or it won't delete them properly.

* Resetting settings or settings that does not apply properly - Vista may deny you write access from the World of Warcraft folder if it is installed in the Program Files folder. You can remedy this by either right-clicking the game and selecting "Run as administrator" or to move it outside of the Program Files folder.

* Settings and mods that won't stay deleted - If you installed the game in the Program Files folder, Vista may redirect the game to look in another set of folders: c:\Users\<name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\World of Warcraft\
It will save all of your custom configurations there instead of the C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft folder. You can delete your settings by going to the folder above or moving the game outside of the World of Warcraft folder.

If the problem still persists, I would suggest you post this in our Bug Report Forum at the link below:

You are right. It was a problem with the Confab addon.

Thanks.

Thanks for the update. You may want to verify you have the latest version of it installed or contact the creators and advise them of this issue.
