I even remember, when the old forums we currently have were the new forums, all of the banned people (including myself) were able to post there. I, like many others, made posts just like the ones being posted in these forums. It did not work and when the current forums became the official forums, all of us previously banned people were not able to post anymore. To the banned players that are hoping to be able to post here when these forums go live, don't expect it to happen because it did not happen the last time Blizzard put in new forums for testing like the ones I'm posting in now.
I'm not here to put you guys down because I understand where you are coming from. When the forums we have now were in the testing phase like these forums, I was excited to be able to post with the new avatars and take part in the revamped forums. I was disappointed when I could no longer post after they went live and I knew I would never do what I did to get banned again.
Unless Blizzard has changed their policy, being permanently banned may not be permanent. However, it still may be a very long time! I believe it was around 3 years until my forum banned account was unbanned, which was long after I had given up hope of it being unbanned.
To sum up what I was saying: Do not expect to be unbanned when these forums go live, but also don't give up hope of being unbanned because I was once permanently unbanned and Blizzard eventually unbanned my account after 2-3 years.
