Binary Brew?

Hey, I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but when I went to the Brew of the Month Club Vendor, I noticed that Binary Brew wasn't for sale anymore, only the new Autumnal Ale was. This is all well and good, but its annoying that you can't purchase the Binary Brew anymore, considering that its an achievement to drink it. Is this a bug that the Autumnal Ale replaces the Binary Brew, or is this intended and when next Brewfest rolls around the Binary Brew will be made available again?

Sorry if this has been asked already : (.

Congratulations on becoming a member of the Brew of the Month club.

Yesterday was the last day of September. Binary Brew was the featured item for that month.

Today is the first of October. Autumnal Acorn Ale is the featured brew this month.

This is intended functionality. Hence the whole "Brew of the Month" thing. ;)

You should indeed receive mail on September 1st, 2009 with Binary Brew.

EDIT: Enum, if you're a BotM member... did you check your mail today? :)

Q u o t e:
if this is the case you might want to update the quest text, iirc it said something about being able to buy any brew you had been previously mailed.

Sort of. The quest text is:

Q u o t e:
You can expect to get our mail at the start of every month. If you like what you got, stop by and we can sell you some more. This is the club that keeps on giving.

And:

Q u o t e:
We be sendin' out brew to you at da start of every month. If you like what you got, and you be wantin' more, head back over here. We make sure you get more of da brew you like.

While I can understand how that last bit might possibly be construed as holding brews from previous months, the rest of the text says that if you like what you got in the mail that month, stop by and get more of it.

You should really make it so you can buy previous Brews that you've gotten from previous months.

Only reason I say this is because of the Brewfest acheivement requiring you to sample each of these brews.

I don't believe we'll be doing that. I'm aware of the achievement, but some achievements take time to complete. :)

While the brews are fun, part of the fun is that they're not around all the time.

The text didn't explicitly say that you could come back for every brew; let's not obfuscate the facts, here. It says you can buy more of the beer you were mailed.

It's called Brew of the Month for a reason. One brew per month. That's how it will be staying.

Surely you jest.

Is the short duration on the squierals a bug?

No.

I personally love Brew of the Month already. Just one question for you. Next year, will we have to repurchase the brew of the month for 200 tokens again? I wouldn't mind it, but then again, by that time I'll be trying to save up the 350 tokens for the 3 pieces of Brewfest garb, to work towards my Brewfest achievement and I don't think it would be possible to get 550 tokens in one Brewfest.

Brew of the Month only lasts for one year, yes. If you would like it for the following year, you will have to purchase it at next year's Brewfest.

Q u o t e:
if it functions like real ___ of the month's you will get a full year subscription, meaning those who bought it on 1st October or after should get an extra month which means they won't have to repurchase to complete the achievement.

This particular club technically lasts from October 2008 - September 2009 no matter when you begin the quest, though if you bought it earlier you had access to the vendor and thus Binary Brew.

Q u o t e:
If we can't have them to re-purchase after the month is gone, can we at least get rid of the expiration timer on them?

My binary brews are expiring in 6 days, and will be gone completely before achievement system comes in.

So it sounds like you'll have to wait until next September to drink all the brews. I don't really see the problem.

And what about October's drinks, which will too be gone before the achievement system gets in?

Just so we're on the same page, you're aware that achievements will be available before the expansion, yes?

Gah, i handed in my brew of the month certificate this morning, got a congrats mail and no brew, but i can buy the autumn stuff from the vendor, i take it this means i will have to wait till next year and repurchase another 12 months to get binary brew?

No.

As I stated earlier: Brew of the Month goes from October 2008 to September 2009 no matter when you turned it in. You will be able to get Binary Brew next September without getting another certificate.

It will remain a part of the meta-achievement for Brewfest.

As I said, some achievements take time to complete. This is one of them.
