Patch 2.1 Stackable Item Loss

It appears if you get something from the mailbox that stacks and zone that the stack disappears leaving you with only 1 item.

My guess is this:
the new mechanic implemented to put the same items in one stack from the mail box is causing this.

Examples:
Pre-patch: You buy 6 primal fires from AH and you get it out of the mailbox it puts it into 6 different bag slots.

Post-patch: You buy 6 primal fires from AH and you get it from mailbox and it puts it into one stack.

After you zone, the stack disappears leaving only 1 of the item.

Happened to me with these:

6 Primal Fires --> 1 Primal Fire
7 Large Prismatic Shards --> 1 Large Prismatic Shard
3 Small Prismatic Shards --> 1 Large Prismatic Shard
32 Arcane Tomes --> 2 Arcane Tomes

Very strange, probably should fix it... only disappears after you zone... doing some more testing will post in this thread once I figure out more.

We are aware of this item issue and are currently working toward a resolution. Please be aware that, until a fix is devised, the Game Master department will be unable to assist with the restoration of these missing items, as this may affect our ability to resolve the nature of the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; and, we appreciate your patience in the mean time. : )

We will be issuing rolling restarts immediately for all realms to implement a fix for an issue which resulted in some items being removed from players' inventories. We anticipate each realm to be down for approximately 15 minutes once their restart begins. We apologize for the short notice and appreciate your understanding.

This has now been posted in the Patch 2.1.0 - Issues and Resolutions sticky: (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=104507487&postId=1057512096&sid=1#12), but I wanted to make sure you all saw it as well.

Q u o t e:
The recent issue causing players to lose stackable items, post patch 2.1, should now be resolved. For those of you that are still missing any items as a result of this issue, we invite you to submit a new in-game petition to our Game Master staff. Please understand that each issue will be looked into on a case by case basis, and that while no guarantee can be offered, we will make every effort to investigate and remedy any losses of virtual property that have occurred. Again, we do apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused you.

Atredie, I am sorry that you have had to wait so long to hear back from a Game Master, please understand that we have a large volume of players that were effected by this today. I am sure if you are patient, you will be pleased with the results of your investigation. Know that we are doing everything in our power to return items when we are able to.

As for your question, Babi, the more information a player is able to give us, the better the chances we have to restore items. So, as always, be as specific as possible.

Not a “stupid question” at all, Omni!!! The rolling restarts should have resolved the issue. So, if you were unable to log in until this time, you should be safe. :0)

As it stands, this issue should have only affected players that logged into the game during a specific window. Nylar, if you did manage to log in during that time, but are not able to at this time, I welcome you to place a petition tomorrow at your earliest convenience. We will do what we can to verify your losses.
