So, I venture into the jungle know as General, and a post caught my eye. A player was contacted by a GM for using this trinket in town to make player dance. As the item states, it's supposed to do this. However, dancing does not, to my knowledge, cause any sort of disturbance to the affected player, other than a nice animation. Are we not allowed to use this item? If not, why is it in the game? It's useless, and gets folks in trouble.

I've always wanted this trinket, but now I'm afraid to get it :/

Also, the chicken quest in Westfall requires us to spam /chicken at a chicken to get a chicken. Is this quest against the rules because it rerquires spamming? Is their another way to aquire a chicken pet? (Saw this in another post on general)

I want the pet, but will I be actioned for trying?

Hello Mariobrother,

Using such an item in the way intended is by no means a violation of our policies. This trinket is designed to create a fun and festive atmosphere. However this does not mean the item is completely exempt from potential abuse or misuse, or that there might not situations that might create undue disturbance with this item.

Lets us take a look at a hypothetical scenario. Recently a new item was introduced to the World of Warcraft realms via the Upperdeck World of Warcraft TCG cards. This is a picnic blanket that when used summons a picnic area in-game. This can be quite the conversation piece and provides great entertainment. Would using this item be against our policies? Absolutely not. Could one come up with a scenario that would likely lead to Game Master intervention? Most likely. For example, if a guild was to each bring a picnic blanket and was to summon their large umbrella covered barbeques repetitively near the Ironforge mailbox then this would be both highly disruptive and annoying to many other players. We would thus of course factor into consideration any harassment concerns of these other players.

As for your worries regarding spamming in Westfall for a chicken - this is much the same. This is intended as part of this quest. There is a decided difference in a player actively trying to get the chicken pet and between spamming to annoy and aggravate players.

The perceived intent behind the situation is what is looked at by the Game Master department in all of these cases. I hope this has helped to answer and clarify this matter for you. Good luck in your search for a pet chicken. *smiles*
