So I reported a GM for botting....

Yesterday in the span of about 3 hours I got about 15 different gold spammer whispers on the realm, Alextrasza. Using Spamsentry I reported as many as I could (as you can only have 1 ticket open at time). Every GM response came from a Cintrome. It was the EXACT SAME RESPONSE. You know the "Rest assured we are investigating the blah blah blah". And when I tried to reply I got the exact same response that the GM did not receive my whisper.

Anyway I formulated the following harrassment ticket (re-written to the best of my recollection):

"I would like to report the GM Cintrome for possible botting. For every ticket I created today regarding verbal harrassment from gold sellers, he/she has sent me the exact same response. When I try to respond to said GM, my whispers are not being received. I highly suspect that this GM is botting. Please investigate this matter and ban the account accordingly."

Within 20 minutes I was talking to a (suspected) real life GM. Who assured me that the issue of verbal harrassment via gold sellers is being blah blah blah. /sigh

Moisticus, I can assure you Game Masters are not botting in the since that you seem to think they are. If you look at it from our perspective, the way your petitions were handled make the most sense.

Let's say a gold spammer sends advertisements to 100 people. Now, let's say at least 50 of those people report that one spammer on one specific realm. Either we could have 50 different Game Masters address each of those petitions while only one of them actually investigates and takes the appropriate actions against the spammer; or, we can have one Game Master pull all of those petitions out of the queue by searching for the reported character's name, respond to everyone at once with one response to which the players cannot respond, then handle the reported character.

One can see an efficiency in the latter choice that at least helps expedite the process of removing these spammers from game, while also reducing the amount of time other players have to wait for a Game Master's response to petitions not concerning gold spam.

Q u o t e:
That does not say that editing a petition will send it to the back of the line.

I understand why they do not want escalated petitions edited, as that may affect the information at hand and confuse the specialist.

This is correct. Editing a ticket does not actually remove its place from the queue. We simply do not wish for players to edit petitions if they were escalated, as Game Masters want to make sure the specialists have the same information provided them by the player.
