Elekks and Wolpertingers...

So the reason for removing the pink elekk and catching the wolpertinger quests was?...

There was nothing wrong with those quests! I liked doing something that took a little effort to get the pet that was fun at the same time instead just throwing some money at a vendor...

Blizz you clearly didn't understand what needed to be fixed about Brewfest... instead of fixing it by making it not a ticket grinding spree, you made it worse by forcing us to fight over loot from a boss in a dungeon no one does anymore...

What's the point of this? The Brewfest mounts were the one thing I thought I actually had a good chance of getting because the other holiday drops have illuded me thus far...

Thanks for making Failfest fail even more... last year it was just a bug with the dark iron attacks and this year its the event itself... try again please...

Unfortunately, there was a problem with the quests this year that prevented us from having them among Brewfest, and the timeframe was such that we simply couldn't change the quests in time to get them in in their new state this year.

Trust me, we didn't want you to miss out on them either.

No wolpertinger?

.............................Grimnthorn is an unhappy Dwarf.

The Wolpertinger is on the vendor for a silver cost.

It's worth noting that it doesn't have a token cost because we can't hotfix that, alas.

Well at least they are acknowledging that some people will miss out on the mounts. Although it would be nice if instead of "we didn't want you to miss out, but we don't want to spend the time to fix it either." they would be like "we didn't want you to miss out on them, so we made it so you don't have to."

If you'll note, the mounts weren't the topic of discussion in this thread.

You really like avoiding the biggest topic at hand on the forums, don't you?

No, I've already stated our position on it, and that it isn't changing this year.

Just wondering how long did you guys know about the issue? How hard was it to fix?
And now that everyone is pretty much voicing that we hate the current Brewfest, there's another year under Blizz's belt to bring it back to the way it originally was.

The issue in question came up far too late to patch and was such that we could only hotfix them out. Fixing them requires a patch we couldn't create in time.

You can fix a boss fight with a hotfix for raiders, and yet you cant fix brewfest for the community...

Boss fights primarily involve numbers, which are hotfixable. This instance would have required a significant overhaul of the mechanics, which is not.

So yes, in this case, you are completely correct.

I'll lay it out so you better understand.

In order to fix the quests and add them back into Brewfest this year, we would have to not only make the requisite changes (which is not difficult in and of itself) but get all the new text localized into the nine official languages the game supports, have QA test the content to ensure the changes are working properly, and create a patch for all regions to bring the content due to the nature of the changes being unhotfixable. All of this combined is a bit more work than you seem to believe, and wouldn't happen for this year's Brewfest in any case.

Kisirani any reason why some of the Ram quests much less challenging. Like the rams you would have to make it back in time now you only have to get the the 4 check points.

Also too bad we have to miss out on the elekks and wolpertingers :( but im betting we would rather not have our server crashing every time some one blasted a pink elekk :S

You can do the "Make it back in time" one after you do the main quest.
