Drop update: Roughly 115 runs, 10 mounts, 5 kodo, 5 ram...1 in 13 drop rate

Note: This is based off the Brewfest area in Dun Morogh, if I feel up to it I might hop on my hordie later and add some npc names :/ lol

Please keep this bumped :D

Here are a few shorts:

-Date: September 20 - October 4

-YES you can get either a Kodo and/or Ram no matter your faction.

-No you cannot buy them with tickets.

-You can no longer do the Pink Elekks on Parade quest.

-You can no longer obtain a Dark Iron Tankard http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34140

-You can exchange last years tickets for tokens at the npc Belbi Quickswitch.

The beginning:

-Talk to the NPC Ironkeg in the Brewfest area to complete the quest Welcome to Brewfest!

-Proceed to Boxey Boltspinner to do the quest Chug and chuck! Accept the quest and walk a few steps to the tables, click the glass and you receive a free Complimentary Brewfest Sampler! Target the S.T.O.U.T. and start chucking! Reward is 10 Brewfest tokens!

-Proceed down the hill to talk to Neill Ramstein. He offers you the quest, Now this is ram racing...almost. Accept the quest and you will receive a set of Ram Racing Reins, and you will be mounted onto a ram! The goal is to maintain a canter, trot, and gallop for 8 seconds each! Just click on the reins and your off!

-After the above quest is turned in, it opens up a daily, non-daily, and 12 hour repeatable token race; they are as follows:

Quests:

-Bark for the Barleybrews (or Thunderbrews) (Daily)
-Talk to either Daren Thunderbrew or Becan Barleybrew to accept the quest and your once again popped onto a ram and sent on your way! This time your advertising! And you have 4 minutes to do it! Start heading into Ironforge (careful not to exhaust your ram!) and make a loop, once you've gotten credit for "Barking" at each of the 4 sets of flags you can safely dismount and head to turn in! Reward - 15 tokens

-There and back again
-Head back to Neill Ramstein to accept this quest. He pops you on a ram to go get him 3 kegs before your ram timer runs out (4 minutes). You can safely go full speed while doing this quest just make sure you hit each of the Apple Barrels along the way (sometimes you run by and it doesn't reset your rams exhaustometer, bleh!). Unlike with last year you cannot earn extra tokens this way (I don't think?). My ram ran out after the 3rd barrel. Reward - 10 tokens

-After completing the above quest alk to him again, you have the option to get more barrels! Get as many as you can, 2 tokens per barrel! Can be completed once every 12 hours.

-Say, there wouldn't happen to be a souvenir this year, would there?
-Accept the quest and proceed up the hill to talk to Belbi Quickswitch, who will give you a free Blue Brewfest stein! Hold on to this offhand as it'll be a Feat of Strength (I think) such as the Yellow Brewfest Stein from last year! If your lucky enough to have both, you can duel wield them (assuming you are a rogue, warrior or shammy lol). Reward - Blue Brewfest Stein
------------------------------
Belbi is also the Brewfest vendor! She sells the following items in exchange for tokens!:

Garb
Blue/Brown/Green/Purple Brewfest hats - 50 tokens each
Brewfest Dress/Regalia - 200 tokens each
Brewfest Slippers/Boots - 100 tokens each

Hops
Fresh Goblin Brewfest Hops - Turns your mount into a Brewfest Kodo! Lasts until Dismount - 5 tokens
Fresh Brewfest Hops - Turns your mount into a Brewfest Ram! Lasts until Dismount - 2 tokens
Preserved Brewfest Hops - Turns your mount into a Brewfest Ram or Kodo! Lasts until dismount (No duration) - 20 tokens

Misc
Brewfest Pony Keg - 100 tokens
Belbi's Eyesight Enhancing Romance Goggles - 100 tokens
"Brew of the Month" Club Membership Form - 200 tokens
Wolpertinger - Bugged on ptr can't read price, will update later, its like 50s or something.

-------------
Dark Iron Attack!

-When they spawn, take up a position near a keg and start chucking! Snag a Sampler from a table nearby and throw it. It starts a chain reaction with the Brewmaidens/masters, they just keep throwing you more!
-Mole Machines spawn constantly, each machine spawns 2 npcs. Get too close to a machine or npc and it knocks you back. Keep them away from the kegs!

When you knock out around 250 npcs they retreat and you win! If you lose, the kegs disappear for a while :(

If you win, a Dark Iron Mole Machine Wreckage appears on the ground, open it up for a quest:

This one time when I was drunk...(Daily)
-This quest sends you to Boxey Boltspinner in the Brewfest camp. Reward - 10 tokens

Just to clear it up, you won't be able to do a number of the achievements until the Achievement system is actually in. Item achievements remain, but others, such as Drunken Stupor or ones involving consumables, won't be retroactive.

Q u o t e:

Why respond to this and ignore the ocean of questions regarding sheer dumb luck being the requirement for a brewfest mount?

I've spent 12 hours today (I know, super loser) spamming BRD and seen ONE mount drop. One in fifty players getting a mount is what you're aiming for? Really?

I already have responded to it many times yesterday. The mounts will remain on the boss.

The drop rate isn't actually that bad.

I'll say this: if you've seen a mount one times in fifty, you've actually had bad luck compared to what the average is.

This many people cannot have 'bad luck' as you say. It's a rare drop, not an uncommon drop.

Don't lie.

Let me put it this way.

The chance of getting a mount is five times greater than that of getting a Scorched Stone in Heroic Ahune, which was bumped up from Normal.

I know the numeric drop rate. I can't give you specifics, but it isn't nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. It isn't common, no, but it isn't supposed to be.

It's the first day. Give it a bit. Averages are averages.

What -is- the drop rate? 2%?

Somewhat higher than that, actually. Elsewise I wouldn't say that you've had bad luck with 1 in 50. ;)

1 in 10? Theres no way.

I do want to say sorry for being kind of mean. You with the Kurken icon. You're actually one of the coolest CMs I've seen on these boards. And I do apologize for being rather hateful. My guild and I are -extremely- displeased with our horrid luck thus far, though, and the fact that no one can spawn the thing anymore has been a major morale killer. The fact that not a single person got a mount out of honors of farming is pretty horrid.

I'm one of the developers on the World Team, actually; my team made Brewfest, among other things.

And no, it's lower than 1 in 10; the sampling of Scorched Stone on third party sites is a bit high. But I will say that you've had bad luck with it, and wish you better luck during the holiday.

scorched stone is at a 1.7% drop rate and your saying thats HIGH??
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34955

I'm saying that sampling is higher than the numeric droprate of the item in the game, yes, not that I think it's more common than it should be. Context is important.
