Leave mages alone for once.

Remember this game is rotated around pve (see frostbolt but not ice lance nerf)

Ive seen to many threads about mages are overpowered and whats wrong but they do not contain even the remote truth you cant just nerf mages without someting in return.

I can agree that something should be done about their burst but they are designed around shatters, just removing in with no compensation would break them.

as you know mages damage rotates around Frozen orb + Deep freeze + a Bomb talent on the target. to do massive damage if the target itself does not have any defensives/trinket/ or even someone watching him when this occors, this is mostly due to several reasons listed below:

your 2partners are in Crowd Control and cannot Help you
Your 2partners are to stupid to help you.
your 2partners either Died or is to offensive.

due to the above reasons or whatever happens, you end up in a Orb + deep + frost bomb, your most likley going to Die if you dont get help, now lets take a look at the game from the start.

A mage +x +healer runs around trying to Force trinkets and set something up to swap your healer with all cds when hes teammates are stuck in a fear/poly etc. this means for the 80% of the game before this happens, the mage is either struggeling to stay alive and or setting something up in order to get this shatter line combo off, and im sure many of you have seen streams where its actually the mage runing around pilars doing nothing untill they can set someomthing up and score a kill.

As most ppl think mages are faceroll, i cant speak for lower brackets but i doubt any mage can get 2200/2400 even gladiator or higher in any bracket just like that.

you mostly need good gameawarness and macros that you have on a handy keybind & know how to use in order to even be remotly good, focus1-3/target 1-3, focus CS, CS 1-3/Poly 1-3, etc, and i doubt just any mage can use this.

so TL:DR playing mage at top rating is pretty Hard as you can think.

Guys, you have to respect the difficulty the mage goes through to stay alive. He spends 90% of his time setting it up. and 9/10 the setup will be countered by cooldowns and trinkets. If he manages to get the whole team in CC, and you in a deep with no trinket or cooldowns, you deserve to die TBH because you were outplayed.

Mages aren't even the most represented class in 3v3. Whining about them will not solve anything as they are not the main problem. Hunters, rogues, resto shaman is the problem.

now please stop bashing titles or threads that we are overpowered, because if you let us get a setup cross CC into swap on your healer, its not our fault it is indeed badplay by your team. 1 blanket cs/stun/anything on the mage in that place will most likley stop the kill for another 1min ish unless your complete dog !@#$.

all mages damage rotates around Frozen orb+deep+bomb.

TL:DR you got outplayed if you let a 3v3 containing a mage set something so sick up that it ends up cross ccing your dps into a swap on healer without Cds (forced before) or maybe a wasted trinket etc, it can turn and that very fast with deadly outcome if your not prepared.

also i am not saying mages are Not overpowered, or that they are because like you know X class vs X class means X class wins by default most of the time.

now that we have to many instants as most healers/dpsers aswell, if you feel the urge to complain, do so towards the frostbolt nerf, as its a castable nuke, they should nerf ice lance and buff frostbolt, not nerf frostbolt and do something else. and im sure you can agree on that.

Mages stink right now , they need a change.

Peace.

I did not say mages are Not Balanced, A few things id like to do myself is to Buff castable Nukes, remove random abilities in this game that stuns you, as they are used as Interrupts. Nerf ice lance for example and buff something to compensate(Faster Sheep?, lower cd on novas? better shield?) something in that direction, aswell as maybe a rework on nether tempest? and bring arcane/Fire up to par with frost.

And lol 1455 arena games played got 2.4achiev in s12
I guess u got magic talent for mage class

i got banned On my vanilla acount Mkai, but i guess you can find me on outland/Rbgs, but we are not here to discuss my new account. and i wont answer anymore questions regarding this BS.

In 5.3 mages are demoted to companion pets.

thihi ^_O

so if you have any Ideas/comments of how to 'Nerf & Fix' the class, please Comment with ideas and things you think could help, since just nerfing "Deep damage" will ruin the class and make it as good as Blood dks as DPS in rbgs.

UPPDATE:

We are aware that there are many players who have issues dealing with Mage burst capabilities, however we feel that the main problem right now isn't simply Deep Freeze or Frozen orb directly, but rather the damage increase caused by Incanter's Ward. When stacked with other damage increasing effects such as procs and Frost Mage mastery, it can add up to an additional 30% damage multiplier, which can be quite devastating against many opponents. Because Incanter's Ward is one of the bigger reasons for high Mage burst, we have plans to make changes to it in patch 5.3.

In an upcoming change to the patch 5.3 patch notes you will see that we are looking to change the maximum spell damage increase from 30% to 15% but have the effect duration increased to 25 seconds, up from 15 seconds. This will lower the damage coming from Frozen Orb, Frost Bomb and other skills during a Mages burst window, but that damage multiplier will just last for a bit longer.
