Im done. Its not fun anymore. Cata wasnt even this unbalanced.

*Edit: I dont care about the mage changes, but i think its totally wrong to let bm/war be as they are. They need more fixing then just small <snip> changes.

As has been mentioned in this thread already, the changes mentioned here are not final and are just an update on what is happening on the PTR. These notes can change before patch 5.1 is released. Do note though that this list does not include all of the hotfixes that have already been made to the live version of the game.

I just wanted to touch on some other points as well, stating that BM hunters were untouched is quite incorrect. The changes made to Bestial Wrath make it easier to control hunter pets as it no longer makes them immune to crowd control. The changes made to Lynx Rush also lowers the potential burst damage that a hunter is capable of, while not lowering their overall damage too much.

Also, all feedback we receive on the PTR's listed changes are greatly appreciated. So please feel free to give us constructive feedback in this thread and it will be forwarded on to the developers :)

Here is constructive feedback: Make warriors killable
Well...not really >.<

While it is off-topic as it is not related to the 5.1 patch notes, you should explain why you are unable to kill them and what kind of solution (reasonable of course) you think might solve that problem. Once you have done this, add it to the already ongoing discussion about warriors and BM hunters here: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/5683058284

The problem with hunters are their cooldowns, remove stampede or change it, make the duration longer but damage less.
The changes made to Beast Within make it so that hunter pets are more easily controlled. So when a hunter pops Stampede now, if you use some form of control to keep those pets from going wild on yourself or a partner then you will be able to protect your team. On top of this as well is the change to Lynx Rush, which will lower potential burst damage.

and the change with warriors is to not let them use every CD at once, and remove gag order on pummel which is the most braindead mechanic ever, faking a interrupt, joke get silenced anyways..
We have another update planned for the Patch 5.1 PTR Patch Notes blog soon and recommend that you keep an eye on this to see what else is coming for patch 5.1 as there are some changes for warriors. :)

How about after all of these nerfs we get some buffs to sustained Damage? Or is it going to take 4 more years until hunters are viable in arena?
I don't know about you, but right now I think that hunters are quite viable in arena >.> Also, I believe that hunters were doing quite well last season in compositions such as PHD and Junglecleave… also, while people did not like the team composition, triple DPS also did quite well in which hunters were involved.

On to the sustained damage over burst though. The change to Lynx rush will lower burst and also increase the sustained damage of hunters as it will be apply DoT effect rather than a direct damage attack. So you can take Blink Strike for Direct damage and Lynx Rush for sustained, depending on your play style. This as well as the ability to move while casting certain shots helps with increasing sustained damage. Remember that the patch notes are not final, more is still to come as I have already said.

This change means nothing to me as I can't save my healer.

Well, I see you are specced into Chillblains as a Frost DK, Howling Blast will slow the movement of the pets to give your healer or yourself some time to get distance. Also, what class is your healer and what about your other partners?
A priest can Psychic Scream or use Void Tendrils. Druids can Mass Entanglement and Displacer Beast to get away. Shamans can Earthgrab Totem and Astral Shift. A paladin can Repentance, Hammer of Justice then use their first tier talent to get away and if in severe trouble they can bubble too. A monk can use their first tier talents to get some distance as well as using Fortifying Brew, Expel Harm and even grapple the hunter weapon to mitigate damage.

There are loads of ways to get away and protect yourself or your partners, especially if the pets are not immune to crowd control. The things that I have listed are also only some of what can be done, if you also include a third team member into the equation the possibilities for control increase even further.

Nice Blue posts is mentioned 3v3 Viable comps for hunters IN CATACLYSM..
WHEN HUNTERS WERE MARKSMAN WHICH is retarded to play atm...

He said that it would take "4 *more* years until hunters were viable in arena", which implied that he felt there were not viable in arena now, or in the past. I was simply countering the argument that they have been viable in the past and are very much so at the moment. I know I have to say this quite often here, but do not try to twist the words of others, or myself.

These changes are wrong. You shouldn't lower sustained warrior damage as it is already a bit low overall and pathetic on a plate PvP targets. But you guys don't listen to what community says anyway.
I have not mentioned the exact nature of the changes, so I would recommend that you do not make assumptions on what they are just yet and wait for the update to the Public Test Realm Patch 5.1 blog.

Don't worry, warriors will be back to normal soon.

New changes:

* Mass Spell Reflect - Reworked, now only reflects healing spells
* Spell reflect - this is now a 2 min CD and will not reflect Mage spells
* Avatar - Now only lasts 8 seconds and the warrior takes 400% damage for the duration.
* Mortal Strike - No longer hits rogues
* Hamstring - in addition to slowing the target by 50%, also slows the warrior by 75%
* Taste for Blood - Removed
* PvP trinket - only usable when dead
* Glyph of Gag Order - Reworked, now instead of silencing the foe, it increases the CD of pummel by another 20 seconds and provides 1 extra rage (like sweeping stikes)

Yeah, I can guarantee you're not gonna see these on the patch notes :p

As it seems that the new 5.1 patch notes have not been made aware to everyone here just yet, I wanted to let you all know they are updated. I also want to alert you to one particular change that is regarding warriors as they are one of the most talked about classes in this thread and on the PvP forums in general:

  • Warrior
    • The silence provided by Glyph of Gag Order is no longer effective against players.

There are also many other changes that are listed there as well, so we are looking forward to your feedback on the updated patch notes :)
