What makes a good pvp player?

Just wanted to see people's views on what they think makes a good player in pvp :) Is it all about how much time someone puts into practicing or perhaps just natural talent when it comes to gaming? Because I know plenty of people who play hours upon hours every day and still aren't amazing, then I know others who don't play as much but who seem to play better. So what sort of natural abilities do you think a person should have to become one of the top? Or perhaps you think age is a factor as well.

How much does class choice influence on how far you can master your pvp skill? Because obviously some classes are much more difficult to play than others but are very rewarding once you've mastered them, while others may seem intitally stronger but once you've reached a certain cap there is just no more room to progress your gameplay.

Anyways, all opinions welcome :)

P.S. Yes I'm very bored atm :<

I think that most of the important points have been covered already in this thread. A lot of them were mentioned already in posts #3 and #20, respectively.

What would be nice to see in this thread though, are suggestions on how to practice and improve each of the different areas of player strength.

I'm unsure whether or not you will agree with me on this, but personally I found dueling to be an excellent way to start improving PvP play. While it is true that 1v1 duels are nothing like Arenas, Battlegrounds, or even World PvP, enough duels against each class will give you a good grasp of the abilities players are likely to use against you. This will in turn allow you to react to, and even preempt some abilities at an innate level.

I think another tip that should be noted is "don't be afraid of losing". Getting beat will often give you a better indication of how you can improve yourself than a victory will.

Any more suggestions? ;)
