What I don't understand.

Why don't the player-base that wants a pre-tbc server don't get anything.
But the 10 players who whine for free epics and race changes get it.

I think that it is unfair, does blizzard even listen to their customers?

Whilst your examples are not entirely accurate, I can assure you we listen and take heed of player desires.

When desires are for advancements or changes in the game's design, we do listen and as you note, we do take actions where we deem suitable. (This doesn't mean everything will make it into a live and functioning feature or service)

When desires are for the opposite (a step back into the 'realms of nostalgia' if you like) this is something entirely different.

You can see we've heard this suggestion before. We've listened and we've responded.

Q u o t e:
  • Suggestion: (pre-TBC or pre-WotLK Realms) Can you make available pre-TBC/pre-WotLK realms without the expansions enabled for those of us who want that.
  • Answer: We have no plans of making pre-TBC or pre-WotLK realms.
In the words of Kalgan: "Nope, no plans for a classic realm. We plan to keep wow moving forward, even though there are always some that would like to revel in nostalgia. =]"
