It always lags, it also lags for those playing all over northrend.
Today was epic , we got about 200 alliance players into WG in attack mode, we managed to get the first maingate to 95% HP! simply because none was able to launch a shot with siege vehicles, due the massive lag, about 30 secs spelldelay. I was suprised the world server didn't crash even.

Anyhow blizzard, this has been like this since the start, at least on Kazzak.
You addressed these issues, but still you fail to fix em.

The solution is simple: instance WG, buy new servers for it.
Or simple close it down, the lottery bosses in VOA are no loss either!!

Regarding those new servers, Ulduar could use some more hardware resources too on Kazzak, it's been lagging inside since the release almost every evening during peak hours.

We have noticed an increase in the amount of players doing Wintergrasp since the launch of patch 3.1. We have implemented changes to the zone in order to spread players out more in the zone as a whole, for example increasing the amount of fighting that takes place around the southern towers. These changes however, do not have a large impact if the zone as a whole is packed full of players.

We have been discussing to great lengths about ways to potentially lower the server load caused by large amounts of players in Wintergrasp. The problem is not as easy to fix as some players who claim to know the "solution" might think.

The whole point of Wintergrasp is that it is a world PvP zone, and not an instanced battlefield. A lot of the zone's design and features would not play out as well if the zone was, for example, a 40v40 instanced battlefield.

Simply "buying more servers" or "upgrading our hardware" is not such a simple solution as people might think. We do see players suggesting this, and wanted to point a few things out in that regard:

a) The hardware our realms are running on is already quite top-of-the-line.
b) If upgrades where possible here and there, acquisition and implementation of new hardware would take months. It is not entirely unrealistic to upgrade hardware as part of the solution, however, it most certainly would not help alleviate any of the lag issues we are seeing in the short term.

For now, all we can say is that we are actively looking into solutions for the lag issues in Wintergrasp, and will continue to implement measures while looking into other possible solutions that might help alleviate the issue.
