Getting to old to play WoW?

It just occured to me, am I getting to old to play WoW?

I was 8 years old when I first played Warcraft 2, I was 17 when I joined the WoW beta, and now here 4-5 years later I am almost 22... Time flies fast.

Most of my friends and family look down on computergames, and think I am childish. I would be lying if I said I didn't care. I just wanted to hear other peoples thoughts on age and gaming. Do I still fit in the game? Or are all the new people too young?

I'm 31 and still playing computer games... Gamer for life Bro :-)

On a more serious note, computer games are like any other hobby; you are only too old for it when you feel you are too old for it.

Well personally, I think that's one of the charms of MMO games - it brings together people from all walks of life, young as well as old, in a virtual world where age, social status, and origin plays no significant role.

Equally, I think offline games tend to cater more towards certain ages based on the type of game it is. For example, my dad - an avid football fan, really enjoys football manager games and has played them on virtually every console or computer I've had while growing up. I am, however, hard pressed to imagine him playing a "beat'em up" game. I guess it also boils down to interest and personality type, so perhaps my opinions are too subjectively biased? For what it's worth though, those are my thoughts.
