Devs - Warriors need a few changes.

So i dont really post on these forums but Its clear warriors need to be looked at but seems no Devs play our class.

I have been Prot spec for a long long time. I actually enjoy using a shield and was hoping the expansion would bring around changes to make a shield and prot spec more viable for PvP and general PvE non tanking, but alas come patch time im back to a 2 hander. (which honestly...i had no probs on test realm with rage gen. I have good DPS kit for a tank. Conq shoulders, breastplate of aniihilation, Chrom boots yadayada).

Our tanking skills need to scale instead of having a Flat threat value, we need better AOE tanking ability, Sunder....an ability that does no damage but is a main tanking ability(relying on an invisible threat mod 4tlose).

Every talent in Prot spec screams DEFENSIVE STANCE. Surely it should be good for ALL stances like the other Trees?
Wheres the so called Protection? Improve the actual protection and survival abilities while giving Devestate a work over to make it useful for other things than bosses......It shouldnt need 5 sunders on a mob to be most effective. Also give Shield Slam more Damage scaling. Make these good for PvP too instead of a whole Spec tree for Tanking.

So i thought id have a go at a few changes, nothing OP i dont think, mainly changes to existing yet underwhelming skills.

Base warrior tanking abilities given scaleability and an instant AOE aggro move available to all.

Revenge. Current Dmg + 10%(?) AP Damage

Sunder. Does 10%(?) AP Damage in addition to the Sunder effect.

Cleave. Leave threat as is change to - Instant Cast , 3 melee targets, 70 Dmg + 10%(?)AP AKA Druids Swipe. OR Instant Cast, 3 melee targets, Weapon damage + 10%AP(?). 6 sec cooldown.

Thunderclap - Useable in ALL stances. It should be a staple warrior ability, yet is rarely used in all honesty.

Defensive stance. - Why penalize us for tanking? Remove the -10% damage as we need dmg to get rage(in 5 mans) and it will also generate a little more threat for non prot spec warriors.

-
For those of us who like using a shield, Prot spec changes to MAKE IT A VIABLE SPEC CHOICE FOR STANCES OTHER THAN DEFENSIVE STANCE.
-

Improved Shield Wall. - Change to increases the duration by 3/5 secs amd reduced the cooldown by 5/10 Mins.

Remove Improved Disarm and replace with Defensive Reactions: Link from Defiance, requires 3/3 Defiance and 15 talent points in Prot. Increases Hit chance by 1/2/3% and chance to resist movement impairing effects by 5/10/15%.(Yes its Hunters surefooted, tanks need +hit too). Prot is supposed to be a protection and survival spec...

Improved Defensive Stance....Seriously WHY just Defensive stance? Are you trying to pigeon hole Prot spec to JUST tanks? Change this to Natural Resistance = 5/10/15% spell damage reduction in ALL stances.

Possible big change.
Change shield block to gain from AP instead of just Strength. This will then make use of AP buffs (TSA, BS etc) while tanking and also traditional +block items. Also good for PvE and PvP DPS finally.

Devestate Shouldn't need 5 sunders on a mob to be useful. I think it should stay as it is Currently BUT ALSO STACK SUNDERS IF THERE IS ALREADY A SUNDER on the mob.

I just hope Blues read this.

but don't address it. oh and i guess Penn never wrote a calm, reasoned, sensical post. You're such a frickin paradox.

Just curious what kind of answer you would expect?

a constructive one highlighting your awareness for the needs and concerns. Or even just an answer to an Heroic Strike question older than the dinosaurs.

I think you mistake me for a developer. I do not make changes to the game.

Can you give us information as to how to contact the Developers then?

You post your suggestions / feedback here and a member of the Community Team will forward it.

So you're the bridge between community and Devs? Doesn't that make you the spokesperson for the developers?

In which case, of course people are going to hold you (and other CM's) to account, since we cant get in touch with them directly.

Of course. But you will have to accept the fact that I can not answer your questions right away. What I can do is in some cases notify you that the suggestion/feedback has been read.

Getting upset about not getting answers from me right away is something I can not do something about I'm afraid.

Perhaps, like the sticky-flag, a 'read-and-forwarded'-flag could be added in the forums?! So people wont need to bump all the time just to get a blue post - and less posting by blues would be needed...

It's an interesting idea, and might be worth a try maybe. However, if people don't believe us when we say we've read it, they might not believe us with that feature either. They could say that we just clicked the thread just to create that icon. It's hard to convince someone that's already decided to not believe us.

I like the idea though. I'll look into it.
