Can get 2400, can't enjoy the process?

Currently we are at 2100+ and decided to try to get within gladiator rank range. However as we play, we're getting more irritated than we're having fun out of these games!

It is simply because depending on who we face, either we or they don't have a chance. We've fought a lot of holy paladin / hunter teams and won none. At the same time, we fought a lot of disc priest teams and won ALL.

This is just an example. At the skill level these people represent, it really matters much more what kind of setup you play against and when you happen to get crits or misses or resists... than HOW you actually play. The setup means more than skills!

I am not talking here about whole arenas, don't get me wrong! You really need good skills to achieve 2000+ range, regardless what comp you play. But once you are there, other factors take over. While it is clear a team with 1600 rating is worse than 2200 rated one, it is completely unclear whether 2100 is actually worse than 2300. It may mean they have great skills, it may also mean they properly dodge dangerous opponents or got lucky to play on days full of farmable setups.

I want to enjoy THE ARENA GAME. I don't really care if I'm 1500 or 2500 rated... as long as I find it fun to play, as long as I know at the end of arena match it's my and my teammate's skill, experience and strategy that won this game and not simply because we had better gear or countercomp or got lucky 2 crits in proper moment. Likewise I want to know these guys who owned us simply are better and more experienced instead of having unfair advantages.

What does "Deadly" stand for these days? It is a monument of luck, fotm rerolls, grinding engineering, dodging hard opponents, having access to PvE gear and plainly just playing a lot.... rather than having great skills, tons of experience and brilliant strategies.

For that kind of "Deadly"... I'm not quite sure I'd like to even have it. And if I can't enjoy the process, the rewards and the underdeveloped content... what can I actually enjoy on the PvP side of this game?

Will WoW always be a game that rewards for time invested and never a game that rewards for what's inside your head? Will it always require you to sacrifice your personal life to achieve anything? Because it all eventually goes down to a simple dready question:

"Do I want a real life or wow achievements?"
