Ever since i specced 31 in prot to be main tank in MC in my old guild, I have been a fan
of prot.
Not just for tanking, but for the rest aswell. I have Pvping quite a lot with my prot
spec and while it sometimes really isn't very good, it is always really fun.
I have been MS for the most of my time, and I am actually specced 31/20 atm, since my
guild disbanded. Got rank10 gear with TUF, with exalted pvp-rewards n so. But I like prot
so much i really wanna go back. And when I saw the talents for 2.0.1 patch I will
definitely do so.
We have quite a nice arsenal of neat stuff to play with when we get access to 41
top-talents.
The first is, it seems Shield Slam can really slam pretty damned hard with the right gear
and spec. This is a shield slam gear, and some of the stuff isn't really accessible for anyone but
let's speak a bit theoretically:

http://ctprofiles.net/1545777

This gear has 324 block value and a 2min CD trinket with 20 sec 235 block value increase.
(and 2 mins isn't a long while)
The talent Shield Mastery increases your block value by 30%, and I have heard from
beta-testers that this will infact increase Shield Slam damage. And if this means it adds
a x1.3 multiplier ontop of the final blockvalue that means the block value with trinket up will be:

(324 + 235)*1.3 = 727

Shield slam does "342 to 358 + block" damage. So if you have this gear, pop the trinket
and have shield mastery, that means it will do an average of 350 + 727 hit damage. That
is 1077 damage.

If you crit with this, that is 2145 damage. For 20 rage. Not 30 rage, people.

And remember, in this gear you have higher HP than usual, and warriors and rogues will
hate you for having 9.6k armor and 400 def.

Other goodies with prot pvp in the upcoming patch:
Spell reflect is easier if you always have a shield up.
Using Devestate along with white attacks when a bunch of sunders is up will really
increase our dps by a huge amount. Some calulation I did showed a 120% increase from
using only whites to using whites+devestate.
Focused Rage solves a huge deal of our Rage problem.
Concussion blow is wonderful. Try it and feel the power.
Imp Shield Slam (if you get it) will annoy casters more than pummel, let me tell ya.
Tactical Mastery is a given.

Everything above is with lvl 60 gear and lvl 60 talents in the upcoming patch which unlocks 41-talents.
What are your thoughts?

Interesting build. I will have to try it out even though I think I will end up as fury sooner or later anyways :)
