General oddities

Hey all, just curious about a few things.

Why do spells / arrows go through walls if you run into a building / behind a tree / rock whatever, or why arrows and bullets dont lose kinetic momentum if you're swimming in deep water?

On the same note, how come fireballs and shadowbolts etc, are homing? If you get pyro'd by a mage and you're on your drake, the frikkin thing follows you indefinitely. You can do loop the loops, fly behind trees and buildings, swoop down sheer cliff faces, and the thing is still following you.

Another thing is why can melee classes hit you from 10 yards with a dagger? I dont mind being hit at 10 yards if they're wielding an axe with a 10 yard handle for example.. just seems a little odd.

Plus why is it, when mounted on a northrend mammoth, can you get melee'd down by a gnome wielding daggers, when the mount itself if 7x bigger, and you're on top of it..

Plus also, why dont plate classes die from the effects of ionization whilst wearing enriched Thorium armour from neutron and beta radiation? or why smelters of such ores and blacksmiths using enriched thorium do not suffer the same effects. I know personally, if I knew someone was wearing a suit of armour made of enriched Thorium, i sure as hell wouldn't stand next to them.. nor would be in favor of being slashed by a sword made of such material. Nor do i understand, after being an A-level student in chemistry and particle physics, how you can smelt an element like thorium into a bar, given it's melting point is in excess of 1750°C.. not sure any open furnace can produce that type of heat without incinerating organic matter within a sizable radius of it..

Why do flying mounts speed not decrease on an incline, or increase on a decline.. Same PoV when falling.. or running down hill, i'd assume a mount to be able to run faster on a downhill slope, and labour a bit more on an uphill slog, why is there no inertia in game, or relative gravitational velocity.

Just a handful of countless curiosities i have..

Well I am sure a lot of very elaborate things can be said to answer these questions, but I guess it all boils down to the fact that it is a game and not a simulation ;-)

We shall leave the simulations fully re-creating the physics and fundamental principles of the Universe to the scientists.

We come in peace, and seek only to entertain.
