What sort of posts is for a general forum CM?

I see a lot of re-directed posts to forums very few people read, abut then there is a forum now for almost everything, which means that you could probably redirect all the posts to those forums as well.

question then becomes for what sort of post should the general forum be used for now?

should they just remove the general forum?
or make it a sort of link to other forums forum where the 5 most recent posts of each forum are displayed, but players clicking on them are immediately directed tot hat forum. OR players can respond to the post when clicking on it from the general forum however clicking on forum index will take you to the correct forum where the post is listed.

Anyway, some heads up on the new purpose would be appreciated.
