Confirmed by Blue, trolling is acceptable.

From the mouth of GC himself:

Q u o t e:

"We made those announcements to get a little bit of discussion going and give players some insight into the kind of changes we are looking into for the next patch. It's not a comprehensive list of patch notes and isn't even likely to match what you see on the PTR when it first goes up. It is something new we wanted to try.

I am not sure we will end up changing the way rage works with stance changes at this stage because I'm not sure we can solve the problems it causes without creating new ones. I could see a system where you always keep a minimum of rage and never lose more than a maximum of rage, but at that point the feature may be so convoluted that you have to ask why have rage change at all?"

So the story is, this hideous almost nerf wasn't really a serious idea in the first place. No way could Blizzard come up with an idea so ridiculous and out of touch of the problems of this class. No way. They know their game. This hideous almost nerf was just thrown out there to incite discussion. Just what kind of discussion were you hoping would come up Blizzard? You propose a "buff" that's actually a huge nerf to our class and think it's fair grounds for a discussion?

There's a word for what you just did. Trolling. Putting obvious flamebait to the masses in the hopes of inciting a reaction. Because seriously, what constructive feedback could you hope to get from the community about such an obviously bad idea? We'd tell you it's a load of crap. We'd be appalled that you even suggested it. It's like saying to the Paladins that their new tier Holy sets would have a lot more Spirit on them instead of Intellect, when it's obvious that Spirit is a terrible stat for a Paladin healer. They'd go nuts, and rightly so. Because nerf calling like this is infuriating enough when it's done by a random troll that has no real grasp on what they're saying. But this kind of crap from the one group of people that should understand and actually have the power to put their hair-brained plans into action? That's terrifying.

There is one of two things going on here. Either you know the idea stank and you put it out there anyway. You trolled your own forums, well done. Way to set an example.

Or you simply have no idea what on earth you're doing with Warriors. 90%+ of Warriors, and even more savvy players of other classes who understand where we're falling down atm realised this was a terrible change. You didn't. I'm not complaining that you're releasing pre-beta thought processes, it's a nice move and the community as a whole appreciates being more in the know. Our problem is, this suggestion should not have made it to a public forum. This suggestion should not have been accepted by your developer team as having potential. This suggestion should not even have crossed the mind of a single developer on your team if they were at all competant.

TIgole says you have the best game designers in the world working there. Prove it already, and fix Warriors. Don't know where to start? Try understanding the class - because it's obvious that your own is lacking. Hire some well known Warrior to consult for you even, provide suggestions and to shoot your own ideas against first before you release them to the public. Or even heaven forbid, start playing the class yourselves.

At no point did we state in such posts that the changes announced were finalised and ready to be pushed to the live realms. They were and remain to be a proposal, if you like, of possible changes to be made to the classes.

At no point has Ghostcrawler, or any blue poster within this forum 'trolled' you or presented you with details in order to provoke any kind of shock reaction. Granted, with any changes or future plans that we post we will receive some drastically different reactions and this is something that cannot be avoided. We merely present you with details of this kind in order to gauge what you think (as a community) of the ideas.

There was a time when this didn't happen, and we were asked by you guys and girls to provide more details when they're known. It seems that when we do post up these details, we're told to not troll and cause a riot. :) Do understand that when we say 'Please keep in mind, that this list is not at all comprehensive, and more importantly subject to change', we mean it. =)
