New to Raids: Need a bit of Priest Advice:)

Hi: I have recently started raiding zg and aq 20 with my guild. Its great fun and I am really enjoying the challenge. However, I do have a cpl of questions.

Firstly; I am generally topping the healing table for most raids, but I am concerned that I have 17% overhealing, which I am sure is not good:( But exactly how much overhealing is acceptable?

Secondly, I have some quite good + healing gear, but am not sure if i have enough to start down ranking my heals; atm i am using heal rank 3, which heals on average for 1000; and greater heal rank 3, which heals for 2000; is this enough healing; or should I go back to rank 4s?

Would appreciate and advice you can give:) Oh; I am 25/26/0 build.

I did my first run as holy specced priest two days ago (in AQ20) and I found it a bit... confusing maybe is the right word. I really have to do some reading up on the guides here and elsewhere on how to best heal in raids - I am also concerned about the overhealing as the OP. Tricky, this ;)

Q u o t e:
EMERGENCY MONITORZ!

... erh, well i meant something like "Healing is a hard job, there are far more parameters than the life of the raid members to consider while chosing your next heal, like the cast time compared to the mob's dps, the amount of healers that are, in your opinion, already healing this raid member, the range (stupid kiters :/), your mana (stupid fast pullers :/), etc etc etc...".

Anyway, good luck in this task, and get ready to answer whiners with strengh and faith: if they died, there's a high chance that they didn't do their job well either! (And it's even probably only their fault)

Hehe, I'll stick to that last explanation ;)

Thanks for input btw, I know I have a lot more to learn... >.<
