Now when people think of an atunment they think of the boring Onyxia chain quest, or the silly Tk atunment where you had to get reveared with three diferent heroics and then do insanely hard objectives wich would require weeks to acomplish.

So yes atunments can be boring.

How ever they can also be fun. For instance think of the BT atunment quest. You had to do some easy quests and you were treated with a very awesome piece of lore as you were fighting alongside akama and majev at the footsteps of black temple. In the end you would know more about the instance and feel like a personal acomplishment as you got the medalion.

And yet blizz could do much more. Such as making a quest line for atuning at at the end you would be treated with a nice movie similar to the one at wrath gate.

Atunments serve two purpose. One to make sure people don't skip content. And finally to give some lore about the instance.

How ever the reason I am asking for an atunment to ulduar isnt because I care if people can skip content.

The reason Im asking for atunment is because otherwise it will be insane lag.

Every one and their mom will want to see how ulduaar is like. And since the first boss isn't a gear check as it uses vehicles, even pugs will be made to atempt it. This will cause "aditional instances cannot be lunched" plus server lag during the encounters.

The atunment should involve the malygos kill in my opinion as it would limit the amount of people who could enter ulduaar. People who arent suposed to be there yet should wait some more untill they killed malygos as well and then they would be able to enter.

Edit: Then again making 3 drakes atunment would be so awesome. So many people who havent done it asked me if I did it when I was asking for new content. The irony would be amazing.

There are no plans for any sort of attunement for Ulduar, at least for now. Even if a raid member is skilled and well geared, if the only thing preventing them entering an instance is attunement then that can be annoying. We feel it's better to allow people straight in should they wish to brave it. :)

That said, an actual lore attunement is fine for me. The Sons of Hodir quest line is already there, it gives a basis for what's going on, and most people have done it already anyway.
There are so many deep lore based quest chains available throughout Northrend that are optional for those who wish to see the story unfold. We feel that it's better to let people who want to know more about why they're doing what they're doing by offering them these optional quests, as opposed to thrusting it upon people who just want to get on with the seeing the new content.
