[Arena Rating] Trying to explain.

I see many frustrated people in here, and I can understand that, most of them are not angry because they loose, they might admit that they are not the best arena players. But I think what`s making people angry is simply because they don`t understand. (and who can blame them?)

I did some testing again (this time with some results).

First off: You need to forget about win loss ratio, so far it does not seem to matter.

Created a team at 1500, first match we lost (on purpose), but we did not lose that many points actually, -6. So it`s rather obvious that the team we met had a good rating. We played again and lost again, but this time we lost about -18. Since we lost I figure the matchmaking system where trying to find a team more suited for us since we lost that first game, and it did, but since we lost again to a team that we should have no problem beating our rating sunk even more.

It seems to me that the new rating system is trying to pin point you position on the arena ladder before you actually get there, is this a good thing? I am open for a discussion.

So you might start up at 1500, let`s say you "hidden" rating is the same (most people have different hidden rating already), and you get set up agains a easy team, this would give you smooth start with +6-10 points (remember this is just an example). You loose this match.... now the system will give you even more easy teams, and this again means that you will gain even less if you win, the system will keep kicking you like this until you hit the rating you are supposed to be at. This might seem abit harsh, but I belive this is more fair.

You hidden rating will follow you as a tail. let`s say you are a good player and start off at 1500. The matchmaking system have no info on you so far (it most likely have by now) they will find a team around your rating and set a match, you win this match. The matchmaking system is now under the impression that you good for much more then 1500, so to prove this you might meet 1580 (or more) teams at your 1506 rating, you again show that you are not supposed to be at this rating, you will meet harder teams, gain points and rise, but you will also be the target for other teams trying to raise their rating, if you win vs them you will only recive a few points.

Again, forget about the win loose ratio. Many people have already stated in here that it is a huge difference to win 5 games to 2k rating teams, then winning 5 games to 1400 rated teams.

You are always fighting vs the system now, you are trying to prove that: "No we are not supposed to be here" and with every win you slowly show that you should meet better teams, but with every loss to a lower rated team you show that you belong along side them.

Before rating below 1500 was close to impossible to get, and every team could just start a new team, loose 10 games a week and collect their free epics. These times seems to be over, and I would be embarrassed to admit that I liked pvp handouts. (don`t get me started on vault, and how wrong that is).

I know many people already know this, and I am sure a few will be offended by this, I do however belive this is the way it works.
