All caps listed are for a level 80 warrior against a Raid Boss (PvE)

The Basics:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Melee attacks divide into two categories auto-attacks (white) and special attacks (yellow). Special attacks are Bloodthirst, Whirlwind and so on - simply attacks that you have to trigger by clicking a button.

Auto-attacks use a one roll table and special attacks use a two roll table.

When you attack from the front your attacks can be dodged and parried (ca. 6.5 % dodge + ca 12 - 15 % parry)
When you attack from the back (dpsing) your attacks can be dodged (ca. 6.5 %)

Recomendations
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is crucial to reach the Yellow Attack Hit Cap as soon as possible. If not the results is a severe drop in your damage per second (dps). Getting more hit than the yellow attack hit cap is not wasted as this gives more white damage and maybe just as important, more rage.

After making sure you are hit capped you need to make sure you are expertise capped. This is absolutely crucial. Expertise seems to be more ignored than hit. For instance when considering the numbers of new posts just asking about the hit cap, not the expertise cap. This is unfortunate as the expertise cap is just as important as the hit caps.

===================================================

===================================================

Yellow Attacks:
263 hit rating (removing 8% miss rate)

787 with the talent 3/3 precision (removing 24% miss rate)

Racial Bonus:
Draenei: Remove 32 hit rating from any of these numbers for your cap

====================================================
Expertise Caps
====================================================

214 expertise rating (26 expertise skill) removing 6.5% dodge rate

Protection
214 expertise rating (26 expertise skill) removing 6.5% dodge rate
164 expertise rating using the talent 3/3 Vitality
469 expertise rating (57 expertise skill) removing dodge and parry.

Racial bonuses:
Human using sword or mace: 25 less expertise rating needed
Orcs using axes: 41 less expertise rating needed
Dwarfs using maces: 41 less expertise rating needed

=========================================================
Defense
=========================================================

540 defense skill -5,6% chance to be critically hit (Raid bosses)

540 defense for a warrior is the minimum where you get crit immune (rather than a cap which means maximum). Getting more defense after reaching 540 is still very good, it gives, dodge, parry, blockrating and chance to be missed.
