That is pretty much the reason why, but that doesn't mean the developers aren't looking into a similar feature for WoW running on Windows machines :-)

It's a guess but I'm fairly certain that's why. I mean I can record pretty happily under Linux, where as I hear windows recording programs can be a little clunky. I guess it's something to do with the UNIX past of Linux and OSX, but as to what it is, I have no idea.
I think you are quite right on this... I think I heard somewhere that Mac machines also have some built-in hardware support for stuff like recording videos, but I am not entirely sure on this however.
