I am a player who likes to go back to see the old content quite much, even these days. Although i can enjoy the two expansions too, I've seen that much of the old content has changed so much during the last two years that Azeroth is more or less unplayable at least in the sense that it was before.
Leveling is much easier/shorter which leads to:
1) It's not much worth going to instances 1-80 and equip the character because the levels practically "fly by".
2) Many "end-of-quest-chains" are soloable which means people won't group much.
My suggestion to Blizzard: Release a Retro-WoW (v1.12) pack to be sold in the stores or online (kind of like an expansion itself). This is no unique idea. As an example anyone that wants can still buy "Team Fortress Classic" through the Steam network if they like to "relive" that old title, even though TFC2 has been released.
(Retro-WoW (v1.12) would have to be played on a special Realm, I guess)
Since that game version already exists it should (at least from my simple understanding) not be very expensive to do this.
Just think about it: Old world with elites roaming some areas. Unlock all the dungeons (the old way with attunements and quests, like in the old days). Harder end quests. Possility to end game in Naxx-40 etc. Nostalgia? Sure, but there are lots of titles that sell nostalgia and profit of it!
If a Retro-WoW title/expansion was released I know I'd buy it the day it was released, and I wonder would anyone else be willing to pay for this?
(sorry for any bad English, it's not my native language)
