Petition to untie arena from BG and viceversa

so we've established a few things over the past few weeks.

1) a huge chunk of the pvp population like BGs while absolutely hating arenas
2) many Arena lovers like to do BGs aswell
3) arenas are nowhere near balanced, and they will probably never will be.
4) arenas are not a measure of skill. yes its better than bgs, but guess what, its nowhere near a fair measurement.

yet, while PvP in the form of BGs and Arenas is vastly different, both in concept and execution, they are vastly interdependent and in a many ways, tied to each other.

Common misconceptions:
1) arenas are a measure of skill. at higher ratings, when the same combos simply fight each other over and over again, sure. otherwise, NO. When the outcome of a game is so highly dependent on class and spec, the only measure of skill to be determined is when combos fight each other. when a very highly skilled "insert 2 classes here" looses to a very poorly played "insert 2 classes here" only because they're playing the wrong classes, then the whole concept is shattered to tiny pieces. Lets face it, 10 classes and 30 specs will never be balanced.

2) only high rated ARENA people deserve the best gear. To a point, i aggree, however, see above. Furthermore, this concept has quite a few limitations. For example, a facerolled class X running around with full deadly gear, in a bg where class Y cant possibly get past 1800 no matter how skilled he is. The resault is not only class superiority, but gear superiority aswell. The imbalance grows even greater.

Limitations:

1) again, facerolled (or even skilled, whatever) classes decked out in deadly gear run around BGs isnta gibbing everyone. Wheres the balance here? when someone simply loves BGs and hates arenas, how can i possibly have fun when arena decked out people with 20-30% more stats show up and smash my face in?

2) hateful gear. the occasional PvEer (me) will have better gear than someone that hates arenas. why? emblems of valor buy hateful pieces with no rating, whereas the BG lovers and arena haters that simply lose 10 games/week to get some points cant get squat due to rating requirements on hateful gear aswell. So in the end, PvEer > PvPer (bg).

3) people that love arenas and hate bgs have to grind loads of honor for their off pieces and trinket. theres no reason to force them to do BGs. do you think they'll like them if you force them to do it? i think not.

4) BG people having the only option to do arena to get some decent gear. why? do you think lowered rating requirements are going to appeal to me to hit the arenas for some rating and thus gear? what if i hate it? (like millions of people do). do you think by forcing me to arena for some decent gear i'll do it? hell no. i rather PvE and do VoA weekly in hopes for upgrades.

Solutions? theres probably many, but i'll throw some out there just for the heck of it.

1) make arena ONLY sets, allowing the inferior bg sets and crafted pieces in arenas as a starter set.
2) make off pieces purchasable with arena points.
3) come up with a way to measure "skill" in bgs, or just make everything available for honor (except arena ONLY sets)
4) in general, UNTIE bgs from arenas and vice versa. no need to force people to run any if they dont want to.
5) something irrelevant, make more bgs :)

the end, discuss.
