So healers are meant to just die (or what)?

"I will just leave it at this: When you put a healer on your team, you need to feel that the dps you lose from not having another dps class is more than offset by the survivability brought by the healing. I'm cool with all damage teams existing, so long as there aren't too many of them and they take big risks from neglecting healing".

So, the important questions are:
a) When way more than half of the 2v2 teams in the world basically consist of either Ratardin/DK or Rogue/Mage, isn't that "too many of them"?
b) What kind or risks due to the lack of healing (sic) are currently taking teams as Retardin/DK and Rogue/Mage?

I am sure that some people have the impression that we we are completely fine with with how easy it is to kill healers in Arenas at the moment, but that isn't true... We are not fine with it. I hope this answers your first question.

As for your second question, that one is harder to answer, because healing through damage needs to be a viable tactic too, and that isn't really happening so much right now.

The ideal situation we are aiming to achieve is that you should be able to bring any class and spec to the arenas, and yes, we are aware that we are not there yet. Many of you have also pointed this out to us very nicely, so thanks for that :-)

Granted, some specs will always be more suited for PvE and vice versa, but you should be able to do your job in an arena nonetheless. Our goal is that the best players who know how to play, both as a team as well as individually, will be the most successful.

We are very much aware of the impact burst damage has on PvP these day, and it is something we are looking into. We have also addressed these concerns in a previous thread on this topic: http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=7327413146&postId=73264039081&sid=1#0

In that thread we mentioned that we are waiting to see how it will be when people have a higher amount of resilience, because it will get better with more resilience. It is not all about resilience though, so we will not be surprised if the question then will be if it is good enough? to which we would understand if many of you answer "no."
