Yup, that works pretty well :-)
With my latest character I went from Hellfire Peninsula to Zangarmarsh, then to Terokkar Forest and finally to Nagrand, where I reached level 70. I wasn't particularly meticulous when levelling that character, so I am sure it can be done even faster and in fewer zones :-)
