I tried to recruit a friend this morning only to find out that I am not eligible because I do not live in the right country.

The policy prevents people not living in Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, UK, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Ireland, Belgium, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Belgium from using the service.

There are many players on EU servers that do not live in the above countries and have friends to recruit. These new recruits will pay montly fees or buy game cards just like any other player. There is no technical reason to discriminate based on country. We all pay, connect to same servers, and long distances may on have a bit of lag.

In fact recruting brings in more revenue for the company, regardless of where people live.

Blizzard, this is discrimination at the best and rather disgusting from a large internaltional organsiation. What next, are they going to discriminate against skin colour, then race what about relgion?

We want all our fans to have access to all our services and offers. However, reasons such as individual laws in a country (or lack of clarity in the law) prevents us from being able to do this. Unfortunately, I cannot comment further as this is a legal matter and not something the Community Team is able to deal with.
