Q u o t e:
Do you loose arena / honor points when you migrate?
Points already earned should stay on the character, also through migration.
Q u o t e:
I commend Blizz's efforts to lower the population of the higest populated servers, but when the hardware simply is not on the level, why even bother? If any of these destination servers had even 3/4 of the population of Grim Batol it would already have 400+ queues and insane lagspikes, unless all of these old extremely bad hardware servers were moved to better hardware that is actually as capable as the one on "new" servers like Grim Batol.
Anyone can clear me out on this respect? Because migrating to a lot less population AND more lag = no no and no thx :|
The issues affecting some of the older realms some time back were addressed, but unfortunately they hit while a migration was open so people moved off and now go by their experience from that time instead of the current situation. And the realm population caps are identical for all realms. ;)
Q u o t e:
You are very right Woa. Blizzard should just merge this server with one of the newest ones with low population. Is this possible to do? A server merge?
Technically, everything is possible, but with some complications and new issues - one of them being queues. "Low population" does in no way mean "half full or less."
Q u o t e:
It seems to me that you're kinda contradicting yourself here. You "never have a goal to create a large community speaking another language than English on English language realm", yet you "explore different options" to get people to migrate from Warsong and Stonemaul by offering them a chance to join another heavy Rus-populated server. The different option that you're exploring is the option for russians to join other russians, meaning you will make their already big population even bigger, effectively creating a large community speaking another language that English on an English language realm.
I understand that it may seem that way, so I'll elaborate.
While it's never a goal for us to gather a large population of "other-language players" (for lack of a better term) on a realm. However, there is no doubt that players naturally gather in such communities, and we don't really see it as a problem unless there's a conflict between these players and the other players on the realms.
Now, between having these other-language communities growing to
seemingly dominate a realm (and yes, their numbers are normally far less than what players "report" on these forums), and having queues of 600+ and growing on a realm, we have to find a balance and look at several options. A carefully monitored migration to Shadowmoon is the option we're trying now, and we do not aim for this to be of an exodus/invasion size.
Other options will be explored once we see the popularity of the migration, and I can't discuss those here and now as there are elements I may not divulge that are key to the considerations.
Q u o t e:
I have two questions for you, that I hope you can answer without contradicting yourself:
1. Why do you not open Rus only servers like you've done for other heavily populated nations that prefer their own language over English (i.e. French, German, Spanish)
2. if this transfer results in an even bigger russian problem on Shadowmoon than we are already experiencing, will you be offering us another free migration away from the realm, even if the realm won't be "full".
1. The languages we label realms with are the ones the game client is available in: English, French, German and Spanish.
2. It's one of the options.
