This thread is dedicated to leaving feedback on Priests in Midnight. Look in this thread and in the Midnight Alpha Development Notes for adjustments and bugfixes made throughout the testing period.

Apex Talents

Many Apex Talents are available for playtesting and may be selected using specialization tree points in the final specialization tree node. The current User interface (UI) is temporary for playtesting purposes and will be replaced with a final UI later in development. As with any test cycle, we will be adding more Apex Talents to the test over time and not all will be available with the start of the alpha test.

To help us refine Apex Talents, please consider the following questions as you playtest:

  • How gameplay-impacting, exciting, and fantasy forward is your Apex Talent to you?
  • Are your Apex Talents and new Hero Talents meeting the approachability goals laid out in our Combat for Everyone in Midnight article?
  • Are there cases you would consider not selecting your Apex talent?
  • Does the Apex talent disproportionally favor a particular talent build or Hero Talent tree?

For feedback regarding the changes on making the combat system more approachable for players of all skill levels, leave your feedback in the Combat Approachability feedback thread.

The following Priest changes were hotfixed to the 12.0.1 Beta realms:

  • PRIEST
    • Holy
      • Developers’ notes: Holy Priest has fallen behind other healers in output. We are increasing some controlled sources of healing with this change and including some reductions in power to Cosmic Ripple as well as reductions to the power of a couple Archon talents to better maintain Hero Talent balance and keep the healing experience consistent with more healing from directly casted spells.
      • Flash Heal healing increased by 12%.
      • Prayer of Healing healing increased by 12%.
      • Holy Word: Serenity healing increased by 12%.
      • Holy Word: Sanctify healing increased by 12%.
      • Renew healing increased by 12%.
      • The second and third rank of Benediction now increases Cosmic Ripple healing by 15%/30% (was 25%/50) and increases all healing done by 6%/12% (was 5%/10%).
      • Archon: Empowered Surges increases the healing of spells affected by Surge of Light by 5% (was 15%).
      • Archon: Halo healing reduced by 20%.
    • Shadow
      • Developers’ notes: Shadow has been overperforming relative to other specializations, particular as Voidweaver. We’re reducing the power of some of its talents to bring its power level more in line with other specializations and the Archon Hero Talent tree.
      • Fixed an issue causing Void Torrent to have a 45 second cooldown instead of the intended 30 second cooldown.
      • Voidweaver: Voidheart now increases Shadow damage by 5% (was 10%).
      • Voidweaver: Overwhelming Shadows now increases Void Torrent damage by 30% (was 50%).
      • Voidweaver: Inner Quietus now increases the damage of Vampiric Touch and Shadow Word: Pain by 20% (was 35%).
