Development Notes

LEGION REMIX

Legion Remix is a time-limited seasonal event where players can create a Timerunner as one of the original 12 Legion classes and replay the entire Legion expansion at an accelerated pace from level 10-80 with some major gameplay twists. Players will collect power, face epic challenges, and earn a mountain of cosmetics such as pets, mounts, and transmog gear. Learn more about Legion Remix in the latest WoWCast and overview article.

TURBO BOOST RETURNS FOR SEASON 3

• Hero and Myth upgrade tracks will extend from 6 to 8 steps with the initial release of 11.2.5, and crafted items will be recraftable with an Augmentation Matrix for additional power.
• Soon after 11.2.5:
  • Fixer So’kir and Fixer So’tho will visit Dornogal to offer powerful weapons, trinkets, and cantrip items from Season 3 dungeons and Manaforge Omega in exchange for Puzzling Cartel Chips after adventurers have proved themselves worthy. Once again, up to three Puzzling Cartel Chips may be earned as the season progresses.
  • Ethereal Voidsplinters may be earned in Mythic+ dungeons, Manaforge Omega, Delves, and rated PvP to fuel the Catalyst.
  • Warbound until Equipped gear drop rates from Mythic+ dungeons and Manaforge Omega are greatly increased.
  • Valorstones may now be transferred across Warbands.
  • Item level 694 delve trinkets may now be purchased from Zah’ran.

USER INTERFACE AND ACCESSIBILITY

• RECENT ALLIES – not yet testable
  • New tab called “Recent Allies” added to the Social frame.
  • Recent Allies will display characters that the player has recently interacted with through a variety of activities.
  • A player that is a Recent Ally will display a yellow person icon alongside their chat lines.
• COOLDOWN MANAGER
  • New frame added to allow ordering, hiding, unhiding of spells and buffs.
    • This can be accessed through Edit Mode > click on Cooldown Manager frame > Advanced Cooldown Settings or Options Menu > Advanced Options > Advanced Cooldown Settings
    • Players can now configure whether cooldowns appear as Essential or Utility elements and whether buffs appear as icons or bars.
    • Many new spec spells and auras have been added but are disabled by default.
    • Developers’ notes: This tool organizes cooldowns into three categories (Essential, Utility, Hidden by Default) and buffs into three categories (Icons, Bars, and Hidden by Default). Spells can be dragged to reorder them in the Cooldown Manager, and they can be dragged between categories. To disable a spell, drag it to the Hidden by Default category. Spells you have not learned can still configured, but their icons appear in gray.
    • Developer’s notes: PTR week 1 will have a subset of specializations setup with these new spec spells and auras added. Additional specializations will be updated in future PTR builds.
• Improved visibility on frames in Edit Mode:
  • Hovering over the names of the enabled frames in Edit Mode window will now highlight the frame and display “Click to Edit”.
  • Hovering over a blue frame in Edit Mode will now show “Click to Edit” and the frame name as a tooltip.
• The Spellbook search bar now has a suggestion to show Assisted Rotation spells.

Greetings testers!

A big thanks to everyone who has taken the time to try out Legion Remix on the PTR. Based on your feedback, starting next week we will be extending our PTR test for an additional week and deploying major improvements with a goal of adding speed, power, and fun to the mode. More details to come soon.

The Legion Remix PTR event will end with today’s build in order to test our character conversion process but will return next week for the additional week of testing. If you don’t want your character to be converted, please do not attempt to log into your Timerunner while Legion Remix is down.

Hello testers! Legion Remix has returned to the 11.2.5 PTR for testing. Please see the below with all the changes in this week’s build:

LEGION REMIX

• On PTR Only
  • Bronze Brannbeard now offers an option to skip to max level and the end of the Skies of Fire (phase 1) experience.
  • Bronze Brannbeard now offers more free gear and mementos.
  • Bronze Brannbeard now appears at Krasus’ Landing as well as the Infinite Bazaar.
• XP
  • Added two Perfected Epoch Mementos (+10% Warband XP each) to introductory quest rewards.
  • Added two Perfected Epoch Mementos (+10% Warband XP each) for the first character in your Warband to reach level 40 and 80 respectively.
  • Increased the rate of Resonant Epoch Mementos (+1% Warband XP each) from Infinite Research quests.
  • At level 70, players now gain Moratari’s Infinite Wisdom, increasing XP gains by 250% permanently for that character.
  • Increased XP gained from raid bosses and Infinite Research raiding quests.
  • Heroic World Tier now increases XP gained from kills by 500% (was 100%).
• Rewards
  • Increased Bronze and Epoch Mementos from raid bosses.
  • Raid bosses now drop a number of Fragmented Mementos of Epoch Challenges based on their difficulty.
  • Quests can now drop an additional Corrupted Thorn of the Dream (and similar items in later phases).
  • Empowered enemies in the Heroic World Tier now have a chance to drop Corrupted Thorn of the Dream (and similar items in later phases).
  • Rares and Rare Elites now have a chance to drop Corrupted Thorn of the Dream (and similar items in later phases) on their first kill each day.
  • Significantly increased the rewards from completing the Withered Training scenario for the first time each day.
  • Added new quests “Infinite Research: Special Assignment” which are offered every 10 levels and provide 4 additional pieces of gear, of which 1 is guaranteed to be Epic.
  • Greatly increased Bronze earned from enemies in Heroic World Tier.
  • Increased drop rate of Epoch Mementos from enemies in Heroic World Tier.
• Combat
  • Significantly increased player power scaling relative to enemy scaling in Normal World Tier, Normal dungeons, and LFR raids.
    • Developers’ notes: These changes aim to increase the value provided from acquiring better gear and more artifact power.
  • The Limits Unbound artifact trait no longer diminishes in efficacy with subsequent ranks; this trait now grants a consistent level of power per rank for all ranks.
  • Reduced the cost to purchase your second active artifact ability by 20%.
  • Eternus’s Ambition now grants 20% class resource upon entering combat while under the effects of Nostwin’s Impatience.
• Dungeons and Raids
  • Greatly reduced overall enemy health by at least 40% and damage by at least 50% across all dungeons and raid difficulties.
  • Trial of Valor and its introductory questline are now included in the Skies of Fire phase.
  • The Bolstering affix now increases allies’ health by 10% (previously: increases allies’ damage by 20%).
• Heroic World Tier
  • Rares in the Heroic World Tier are now always empowered.
  • Significantly reduced the health of enemies summoned from Beacon of Chaos.
  • Increased the radius of Imperious by 25%.
  • Reduced the duration of suppressing Fel Raiser by 20%.
  • Reduced the damage of Corruption of the Engorged by 33%.
  • Increased the duration of Corruption of the Engorged by 66%.
  • Corruption of the Engorged is now magic-dispellable.
• Timewarped Obelisks
  • Offering of Brutality damage increased by 250%.
  • Offering of Brutality’s final explosion now deals an additional 10% damage for each stack of Brutality.
  • Offering of Restoration now also grants 20% Leech.
  • Significantly increased the damage and attention span of Offering of the Pact’s Fel Trickster.
  • Offering of the Void can now trigger from any ability (was only critical hits), deals 100% increased damage, and has a larger radius.
• Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue causing artifact traits to not scale appropriately for Warriors, Hunters, and Rogues; these classes should see a significant increase in power from artifact traits as a result.
  • Fixed an issue where keystone dungeon rewards did not scale proportionally to the increased difficulty.
  • Fixed an issue where Artifactium Sand was not dropping at the expected rate.
  • Fixed an issue where healing could cause more threat than intended.
  • Fixed an issue where leveling up would switch your flight style to Steady Flight.
  • Fixed an issue where leaving the timeline could cause excessive dislocation.
  • Fixed an issue where Eternus was not administering her own trials.
  • Fixed an issue where converting your Timerunner would give insufficiently powerful gear.
  • Fixed several issues where quest progression was blocked due to timeline shenanigans.
  • Fixed several issues with Druid travel forms.
  • Fixed many other miscellaneous issues.

ITEMS

• The following D.I.S.C. Belt abilities have had their damage and stat effects reduced by 20%:
  • Charged Bolts
  • Critical Chain

Hello testers! Here are the notes for this week’s update to the 11.2.5 PTR:

LEGION REMIX

• All phases up to the Argus Eternal phase will share the Argus Eternal item level cap (iLvl 740).
• Each rank of Limits Unbound now grants +1% versatility.
• All secondary stats granted in Legion Remix now ignore their diminishing returns and hard caps.
• Adjusted the spawn rate of empowered enemies in Heroic World Tier, so that spawns are more balanced across zones and overall, empowered spawns are increased by 33%.
• Increased the rate of Infinite Power gains at all levels of Infinite Knowledge by ~25%.
• Increased the rate of earning high-rarity Epoch Mementos from Caches of Infinite Treasure, dungeon bosses, and raid bosses.
• Increased the duration of most Timewarped Obelisk buffs:
  • Offering of the Void duration increased by 30 seconds.
  • Offering of the Pact duration increased by 120 seconds.
  • Offering of the Assassin duration increased by 60 seconds.
  • Offering of Swiftness duration increased by 90 seconds.
• Fel Trickster’s damage increased by 33%.
• Reduced the health of quest bosses and rares in Heroic World Tier by up to 40%.
• Several achievements which were character-specific are now account-wide.
• Implemented numerous bug fixes.
• Talk to Bronze Brannbeard after completing the introductory quests to skip ahead to power levels attainable through otherwise-significant effort.

ITEMS

• Mark of the Twilight Oath may now be deleted.

USER INTERFACE AND ACCESSIBILITY

• RECENT ALLIES
  • A setting has been added that allows you to hide your location from Recent Allies. This can be found in Settings > Social.
• The Move Pad, accessible via Settings > General, now supports Press and Hold functionality. This option can be found in the cog icon dropdown on the Move Pad UI.

• PREMADE GROUP FINDER
  • Various fixes to address addon issues with group finder reporting:
    • Fixed a bug that was causing addons to get errors after the player reported a group using Report Advertisement.
    • Group Finder list will update after any report type is submitted, not only for advertisements.
    • Groups that are reported will no longer appear in the list after subsequent searches.
