Zhevra claiming question to Blizz

I have a question regarding recruit a friend, and, more specifically, about zhevra mount claiming.
I recruited a friend, he paid for 2 months, I've got an option of claiming awesome Zhevra.

My question is, how much time I have to claim it? Because I'm not yet sure which character to give it to, maybe I'd even give it to my future Death Knight. Is it permanent? Will it dissapear someday and I'll lose option to claim my zhevra?

Please answer only if you know for sure. I'd like blue post, too. Thanks :)

We read a lot of threads, yes. I have no idea how long you've got to claim it, sorry. I'm not sure if the ability to claim it exceeds the length of the link between the accounts or not. If it was me, I'd err on the side of making my mind up sooner rather than later.
