I've been gathering all the information I could about inscription. I usually prefer the Q&A format since it's easier to read and to quickly scroll a text and find what I am looking for so, with all the work done, I thought I should simply paste it here.

Hope this is usefull.

All information was gathered from the usual sites, this is still a Beta, all information is subject to change, bla bla bla, no warranties, bla bla bla (I guess everybody knows this by now)

- What is inscription
Inscription is a new Major profession in WotLK. Avalable to anyone that will make Glyphs as well as other consumable items

- What is a Glyph
A Glyph is sort of an enchantement for spells. Every character will have an aditional tab with 2 slots for Greater Glyphs, 2 slots for Lesser Glyphs and other 2 slots for minor Glyphs

- Do you have an example of what can go into a greater Glyph?
Greater glyphs wil have enchancements to spells and habilities like to avoid interruption caused by damage while casting your wrath spells (for Druids)

- Do you have an example of a Lesser glyph?
Lesser glyphs will be the less powerfull versions of the greater glyphs like reducing rage cost of demoralizing roar

- Do you have an example of a minor glyph?
Minor glyphs will be the fun factor of inscription like the famous Polymorph: Baby penguin (for mages )

- What consumables will inscriptors be able to make?
Scrolls (all types of scrolls and, yes, I'm talking about the good old scrolls that have been with us since forever like Scroll of intelect V)
Runewards - Temporary enchants for armor (the example I found is a temp enchant that increases spell power +3 to place on chest)
Scrolls that enchanters will use to create item based enchants
Runes of power (Blasts an enemy with XXX damage of this school of magic consuming some ink)
Among other items (the good old Carrot on a stick will be made by inscriptors as will a set of Darkmoon cards, also a new HS with 15 minutes cooldown)

- What will inscriptors use as raw materials?
The end products will be made using inks and parchements. Inks will be made using herbs or pomaces. Pomaces will be made by using the skill Milling on herbs.

- Milling? What is that?
A skill you will get while learning inscription that takes 5 herbs and creates a pomace out of them, kind of a mixture of prospecting and disenchanting.

- Parchements? Like Engineering?
Seems like that, while the name is common, this parchements have nothing to do with the parchements of engineeres. Still unknown if this item is made or bought from vendor

- What / How many types of ink there will be?
Earthen Ink
Ebon Ink (requires dusky pomace)
Ivory Ink (requires peacebloom)
Midnight Ink (require dusky pomace)
moonglow ink (requires alabaster pomace)
Silver ink (requires silverleaf)

- What / How many types of pomace there are (and what herbs mill into them)?
Alabaster Pomace (Peacebloom, Silverleaf, Earthroot, mageroyal)
Dusky Pomace (Briarthorn, Swiftthistle, Bruiseweed, Stranglekelp, Mageroyal)
Emerald Pomace (Goldthorn, Khadgar's Wisker, Fadeleaf)
Golden Pomace (Fade Leaf, Khadgar's Whisker, Kingsblood, Liferoot, Wild Steelbloom)

- Can all herbs be used in Milling?
I believe so, even if I never saw no example of anyone using a fel lotus for milling

- Can I have a lvl 10 alt to mille all my herbs?
Nope, milling a herb requires some inscription level and, to learn the profession ranks, you have to have some character level. For inscription the herbs levels are:
level 1: Earthroot, Peacebloom, Silverleaf.
level 25: Briarthorn, Swiftthistle, Bruiseweed.
level 75: Wild Steelbloom, Grave Moss, Kingsblood, Liferoot.
level 125: Fadeleaf, Goldthorn, Khadgar's Whisker, Wintersbite.
level 175: Firebloom, Purple Lotus, Arthas' Tears, Sungrass, Blindweed, Ghost Mushroom.
level 225: Golden Sansam, Dreamfoil, Mountain Silversage, Plaguebloom, Icecap.
level 275: Dreaming Glory, Felweed, Terocone, Ragveil, Flame Cap, Ancient Lichen, Mana Thistle, Netherbloom, Nightmare Vine (All Outland herbs).
level 325: Adder's Tongue, Goldclover, Tiger Lily, Lichbloom, Icethorn, Talandra's Rose (All Northrend herbs).

- Will there be BoP advantages to inscriptors?
Yes, inscriptors will have 1 greater glyph more and there will be BoP inscriptions.

- Will there be an inscription bag?
So far, a 10 slot bag was reported so, I would say that the answer is yes.

- Will insciptors have any kind of group buffs, like leatherworker's drums?
No (meaning, nothing was found yet)

- Where will Inscription trainers be?
Not known but, I've seen in this forums (reported by a green - Highlander, was it you?) that the only place where he found the scribe tools for sale, needed for the pomaces was in Dalaran. Of course that would be something I would be expecting to be changed

Nice effort, albeit a little bit early ;-)
