Give mages their dignity back!

We have been called the least useful class by today's top raiding guilds. And as a mage, that worries me. When people see us in battlegrounds and arenas, they think "great, easy target" while other clothies like warlocks would cause some panic if they came running towards you over that wsg field. We used to at least have the title glass-cannon, but look at us now. We have become food vendors, even passed by hunters on damage meters as we are busy with tasks like transforming monsters into four-legged bleating balls of wool.

And something has to be done. Ever since the TBC release, things have been going in the wrong direction. Take a look at the latest patch notes for instance. "Dispel effects will no longer attempt to remove effects that have 100% dispel resistance." Well EXCUSE me?! Can't we have that at least? It's not like I am not happy about the food table, but is an easier way to distribute food and water to other people the only thing you will give us?

Then have a look at our buffs. Free intellect for everyone... wheee! We are dependent on other classes to buff us up so we can do our job. What about amplify magic you say? Do people even use that in Gruuls nowadays? I mean... come on!

So I beg you Blizzard: At least give the mages damage and deadliness back. Give us our dignity back!
