Q u o t e:
Twinking is an alternate playstyle, there is no reason to change it to make it "fair" for players levelling their characters.

I think we agree there, at least in principal.

While we can appreciate twinking as a sort of meta game, we don't like the idea of it impacting other's choice to play in the battlegrounds while levelling and being matched unfairly (this is where the new matching system comes in), and we don't like the idea of expanding a twink's arsenal with new items not intended for their level range(where the changes come from).

We didn't and don't intend to specifically provide ways for twinks to gain new resources to further the gap, especially those that are way, way out of what should be used in their level range.

Now if we were to add level 19 battleground rewards, new items at that level range, etc. that would be different. We don't have plans currently for either of those though at current, by the way.

Which brings us to the other point, which is changing items that have been around a bit longer.

Fishing Hat and Boots given a level 30 requirement – this is a big slap in the face for many. Some spent A LOT of time trying to get their’s, some around years. The items were not only great, but a symbol for dedicated twinks. Blizzard did not wipe them, but those who have it equipped receive no stat bonuses.

This was simply a case of cutting down on abuse of the fishing tournament, which more or less consisted of a guild of 70's locking down the coastline so a twink could reap the rewards. The zone isn't intended for that low of a level, neither is the fishing tournament.

Sometimes there are tough decisions to be made, and the decision was made on the behalf of people wanting to legitimately take part in what is actually a pretty awesome weekly event.

Q u o t e:
Twinking for me is my playstyle. Most of my time and in-game money is invested into my twinks. I expect to be treated like any other player and refuse to be cast aside because some players don't approve of twinks. Expect this to be posted on a few forums.

There were a couple oversights, some which have been around longer than others, that have been corrected. I don't see anyone being cast aside. If we didn't at least appreciate twinking some small amount for what it is you would see some real changes.
