Anti-Twink System

I heard there will be a anti-twink system soon, but when will this come?

I love healing people in the battlegrounds, but that's almost impossible since I get constantly ganked all the time without having even the time to react. This is ruining all the fun for me :/

This "anti-twink" system should be in place in patch 2.1 :-)

I do not like calling it an "anti-twink" system, because it was never meant to be such a system. It is a system where twinks get paired up with other twinks and where more regular PvPers get paired up with other players like themselves. This should even things out somewhat and hopefully make the battlegrounds fun again for those players, who got discourages from playing them, because of too much twink-pwnage that sucked away all the fun.

Lots of players find it fun to twink their characters, and they have spent lots of time and resources to gear up, tweak and buff their low level characters as much as possible in order to maximize their efficiency. The people who enjoy twinking will still be able to do so as much as they want, however instead of playing against normally geared players, they will get to play against other players who are like themselves :-)

Yes, but however much they try to defend it, I think that for most of them the fun is in walking into a group of 'untwinked' players and killing them all. I don't think most people twink specifically in order to fight other twinks, but to avoid being fodder for them.

That might be so. If their motives for twinking is to fight other twinks to maximize the fun, then that will still be possible after 2.1. If their motives for twinking is to "pwn lowgear n00bz" then that will no longer be possible, unless the twinks they get to fight against are "no-skilled n00bz" instead.

We want everybody to have fun in the battlegrounds, and that includes those people who do not twink their characters... and getting steamrolled again and again by twinks is just not fun. I am also quite sure that the real twinks, who actually like a challenge, will think that fighting players like themselves will be much more fun than fighting the more normally geared players.

Basically you can say that we are weeding out the "griefing" element of twinking with the matching system.

Another thing which doesnt need a blue reply is what is the point of twinking now? There really isnt one, since you will just be paired against other twinks, so why not just make a level 29 character with okay gear and fight other people with okay gear, or crap gear vs crap gear even.

Analogy: What is the point of formula 1 racing when those drivers could just race with their regular family cars instead?

There is now no longer a point to twinks since theres no difference in getting very geared up and spending loads of money on a character to fight others than to have okay gear and spend no money and face okay geared people.

If your motive of twinking were to steamroll less well geared players, then you will have less fun after 2.1 as you will get to fight against players more like yourself. In this case you could perhaps use your twink for world PvP in low level areas instead. Some twink world PvP action in westfall or the Barrens sound like a ton of fun to me :-)

If your motive for twinking is to maximize the efficiency of your character in order to have fun and challenging fights against other twinks, then you will have more fun after 2.1 as you will no longer have to steamroll those non-twinked players between "real" fights.
