Me, cancer and my guild.

Hi people for those of you that don't know me i am syphonz ex member of good game guild of zenedar, i logged on today to find that i had been kicked from the guild without a word of explanation, a guild that i have been in for almost half a year, and was the oldest rogue member of the guild at the time i was kicked.

Most of you reading this will not know other then my old guildies, but early this year i was diagnosesd with cancer, (Hodgkin's lymphoma)

which although is not the worst of cancers that i'm sure a lot of you have encountered through relatives as we all have, but it is certainly not gonna be fun and games when you have to drop out of university in your first year to undergo rigorous treatment of chemotherapy stripping you of not only your hair but your dignity as well.

As i suffered a lot by myself at home i felt i might get fully active in world of warcraft as i'm not busy at all, so i happened to join good game and enjoyed some great raiding and friends that helped me through what was quite a dark time in my life.

How ever i log on today to find that i have just been kicked from good game out of the blue..

this came as a big surprise to me, but most likely had been planned for some time by certain people. you see over the past month i have been very unreliable and inactive, i did let the guild know via our own forums that i would be gone for some time. the reason i have been unreliable was due to the course of my treatment, you see at the end of my chemotherapy i was to undergo radiotherapy which meant every day i would have to travel into London from where i lived, ( a 1 hour drive.... sometimes 3hours on the m25) so i would often come back too late for raids. then following this i had to undergo some tests and was to be put in observation at the hospital for a week, i again let the guild know i would not be able to make raids. that all ends, and by this time i am ready to restart my year at uni a fresh, and as you can imagine quite a lot had to be done in paperwork for the diferral and getting the year underway, i just moved into a house so i had to sort out rent and electricity internet etc, so as you can imagine i have been a little busy sorting my life out, 1 week ago i go back down from my university in leeds home to get the results of my cancer, ALL CLEAR, REMISSION, i am extatic, that week i paint the town red and get battered with some of the friends that have made it so much easier on me etc.

So that puts us to where i am now... back to world of warcraft in the evening to wind down from uni work, so again i find myself fully active, however i log on today and i found that despite being told i would not get kicked(by the same person that click the kick button), i have been kicked from good game. labeled by the rogue class leader and officers as "unreliable" this comes as a great shock to me as i played along side him for a long time, i thought he was a nice sound lad. after asking the guild leader about it i am told its over his head, and there is nothing he can do about it >.>... anyways just thought i'd share this little story to vent my anger at the guild...

would just like to say thanks to all the nicer people in good game that made my treatment seemingly faster and more enjoyable then it could have been

special mention goes to truetimbo/truegimbo/frostiee, neela, eranicus, personia, wander/impulse,cooper and lots of others, hopefully they can change the atitudes of some players for the days to come

as for me ima drop wow for now, dont intend to join the guild again tho i wish them the best of luck in the future raiding!
