Yup, it is coming to Europe as well :-)

This is simply just the first step of our plan to link all the Battlegroups together within specific gameplay region. In the end, all European Battlegroups should be linked together, which basically means that you will be matched together with other players from all the English language realms in the EU region when using the Dungeon Finder or the Random Battleground system, and in the Battlegrounds you may face opponents from all the different language realms in the EU region.

What will happen to vindication though, Vaneras? I remember quotes saying that the servers running Vindication where on a different location of the other battlegroups making it impossible to merge, does this means the vindication servers will be moved, or will you make a back-up of the servers and dump them on a server on location?

tl;dr
Will there be down time for the Vindication battlegroup when it becomes merged with the others because of it's location?

The plan is that Vindication will be linked together with all the other Battlegroups in the European region, but at this moment in time we are not in a position where we can say if an extended down time period is required or not in order to make this happen. We will of course let you know as soon as we have more detailed information on this :-)

I like the idea. My only gripe is that the chances of meeting people we know from our own realm will be incredible low. It's always fun to meet someone from your own realm.

Yup, fighting people you know can certainly bring extra fun into PvP :-)

On the topic of fighting people you know being more fun, I feel that it is worth quoting what we previously posted about our plans to implement "war games":

In addition, we are working on a "war games" system that will allow one group of players to challenge another group of players to one or more battles in the battlegrounds, and this system will allow for same-faction battles to take place as well... This will for an example make player made tournaments a possibility :-)

Hey Vaneras,

thanks for the update its been very helpful. :-)

One question, you said something about english speaking realms. Does this mean that English speaking realms will no longer fight German speaking realms for example? I hope so because the Germans are very good, and when I used to play on Scarshield if we were unlucky to face them in a BG it was very one sided ;-)

The idea is that players from any realm of any language in the EU region will be able to fight other players from any realm of any language in the EU region, so in your case this means that you will still face German players in the Battlegrounds from time to time :-)

What I was trying to say in my original post is that you will only be grouped together with players from the same language realms as your own when using the the Dungeon Finder tool or the Random Battleground system, so in your case, when you for an example queue up to join a Battleground, your team mates will only consist of players from English language realms.
