Hi

A couple of days ago I faction changed one of my characters. Having completed the changed and chose my preferred race I regretted my decision (I chose Dranaei but wanted Human). As such and since I'd only paid for the change 2 days before (and to a GM's advice) I contact Billing via the webform on battle.net.

The next day I received a response I was advised that they can cancel my faction change (move me back to my original faction) and refund me (so I can re-do the faction change again but this time to human (which I want). However the blizzard employee has asked for specific account info which has made me susicious.
Here is a the main body copy of the email received:

If you would still like to switch back to your original faction, please provide us with the following information:
- Your Battle.net account name
- Full name registered on the account
- Your full address including postal or zip code
- Your Battle.net Secret Question and answer
- The name /label of the World of Warcraft license holding the character
- The last four digits of the card or bank account used for the faction change
- The original name of the character that underwent the change and the server he is located on

Please also include a written confirmation you would like the faction change reversed.

It is imperative that you do not play the character further as this might prevent us from offering this service.

Note that we need the service to be fully completed to be able to reverse it. Please therefore make sure you have proceeded to the character changes in-game before replying.

As soon as we have received your confirmation along with the details requested above, we will be able to process your request further.

I really am suspicious about this. Blizzard always states they will NEVER ask for my password and this is specific info which would give everything a hacker would need to take my account....

Please can someone help me out here...

Thanks

Hi,

There not asking you for your password, they are asking for details about your account, largely security checks.

Since we have records of what was changes with the Faction change we can compare it with the information you provide and follow through with the refund.

Hi,

Because its a security check since only yourself and Blizzard would know both.
