Everything deleted what would have made CATA awesome.

What's keeping you to play WOW now, since the game is now clearly destined to be a lobby game with sitting in a City and doing instance runs.

This maginifcent game has become the village idiot of MMO design.

great job Morhaime, great job

Blizzard will need to a LOT of explaining why the MAIN feature of CATA was just scrapped into oblivion.
Oblivion? No, it's still there, just back on the drawing board.

What it boils down to is getting something that feels right - something that feels polished and fully fleshed out. We'd much rather include less systems that are fully realised than implementing a lot of unsound ideas that require years of iteration to get to a standard we're happy with. Game design is a fickle beast, and we'd like to think that making this call is in the best interests of the game. The idea is not shelved for eternity, and if we can come up with a way of making the Path of the Titans feature become reality in a future release, then that's what we'll do.

I feel like i have been deliberatly mislead into a game future that you never once intended to supply. this feels like it was smoke and mirrors.
How it feels and how it is are very different things. You miss the point that we want to avoid implementing a system that doesn't meet our design goals.
Q u o t e:
you cannot deliver that. im losing faith in blizzard. maybe activision has rubber off on you too much.
You probably want to do some research before saying things like this, that goes for the rest of the post, too. I implore you to read up a little and think about this from a design perspective, and not from such a dramatic standpoint.

omg they scrapped all the old world and all the old quests and content, most the old stats and the combat engine and replaced it with, ow wait Scrappaclysm :P
I preferred you when you were posting on your Night Elf. At least you were trying to be constructive then, and not just trying to get peoples backs up.

Please try and keep your thoughts constructive. We want feedback, not just posts being made because there is a button with 'Post' written on it.

Thanks.

translation, the point i made was not discussed but a general attack against the poster was made, to not be attacked i used a different char, this isnt against the rules as i did not support my main chars posts, i made no reference to my other posts. i am not in hiding from blues as blues can clearly see and state that i am me.
I agree, people began to get hostile, but at the same time, you must try and see past the removal of the Path system. You have seen what Ghostcrawler said on the subject, and we ask that you try and think objectively about what was said, then you'd not be quite so angry about the whole ordeal. We understand your disappointment, but at the same time, you cannot deny we've given good reason for this development decision. Game development is a balance and a very twitchy one.

Quality is something we strive for in everything we do, and simply put, we were not seeing what we wanted from the Path system. Do you not agree that it's better to shelve an idea that doesn't meet our goals than to slap it into the expansion in a way that doesn't feel right or in any way reflective of what it was originally intended to be? Myself, as a lifelong gamer, would prefer to see a compromise which is what we've offered.

this is all taken into concideration and as such came here for answers, what i got was nothing, i asked these questions, why is it that gc decided to say these to the press before the playerbase. why it is that these systems were still hyped until now and if gc hadnt said something to the press when would we have known, what else is going to come from E3 that should in perspective be told to the playerbase 1st through the main site. if these systems are intrecul to the game or should i say were why is it that until this moment so close to release that they were not realised. what are the main points of why said systems failed to be intergrated within the game, is it ethical or coding problems. did you bite of way more then you can chew and what else arnt you telling us.
We announced this during our Cataclysm Press Event, in which we invited Official World of Warcraft fansites. We aren't attending E3. But more to the point, we like to share information with our fansites. Giving dedicated and hard working fansites exclusive material and announcements is something we like to do. We did it with our female Worgen reveal as well as the reveal of some of the talent trees that are still under development.
Q u o t e:
if for once you actually told us these things yourselves in advance there would never be these problems but its left to sites like mmo champ to tell us these things
The majority of our announcements are made by us directly to you guys through the forums, through press releases and similar as well as the recent influx of fansite driven announcements and reveals.
Q u o t e:
and what reason was gioven, you say a very good reason was given, what we got is the equvilent of a bad plumber going, p!@*tttttttt dont look good.
If you feel that way, nothing I, or anyone else can say, will help you to grasp what we're talking about. I'll step out of this conversation with you and move on. Thanks.

If it's not going to go ahead then fair enough, but...medium glyphs? I hope that's a working title, I'm sure you guys can come up with something a little more evocative.
The name isn't final, don't worry.

Thanks, that's good to know.
I won't promise that it will change, but it is currently not considered a final name.

I'd like to steer this thread back on to the subject of the recent announcements regarding the Path of the Titans and Guild Talent rework, if I may.

We do appreciate all the feedback, and let's try to keep it solely on those two subjects here on in. :) Thanks.

Now I am curious about whether or when we will see previews of the revised glyph system and the new guild perks/progression system.
You can be sure that when we have something we're able to share with you, we will do just that.
