WoW 2

One day WoW will have to upgrade right? New engine and stuff. Will there ever be a WoW 2? I'm pretty sure the changeover will go well, as Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3; and the Sims series.

So are Blizzard considering creating a second in the series, and even a series?

Soon we'll need 4 different games to play WoW to it's full potential. The disc space alone is getting big, as well as the length of the game. Instead of making the game long, Blizzard purposely make it as short as possible, because it will take people much longer to reach end-game. This hints that Blizzard are hoping to stick with released addons and patches.

Thoughts?

I dont think Blizzard is planning on making any WoW 2. I would rather imagine that they will just create "new" layers of grafics for the current game, which players can chose to enable if their computers can handle it.

That is a possibility indeed :-)

We of course never know what the future has in store for us, and although this is an interesting topic, I honestly think that it is a little premature speculating whether or not there will be a sequel to WoW.

WoW has evolved and been expanded upon in increments, and so far we have seen quite a few updates and improvements being implemented gradually through patches and expansion packs. Examples of such updates and improvements are the newer zones and models being more detailed, improved textures, weather effects, new spell effects, new shadows system, the new water effects that have been announced in Cataclysm, etc., etc. I think it is very likely that we will see this evolution trend continue, that the game will continuously receive incremental updates and improvements over time.

After WoW i think they will make Warcraft 4. If they make another MMO its probably from one of their other games series(Starcraft, Diablo).

Who knows ;-)

I cannot see any reason why Blizzard would develop a WOW 2. There is nothing they cannot do with the current WOW. If they want to overhaul the graphics or game engine they can either do it in an enormous patch or expansion but there is nothing technically stopping them.

If they did do a WOW 2 I think it would only be a rebranding excersise.

You raise a good point indeed :-)

If we were ever to do a sequel to WoW, how would that game differ from the original WoW?
