So lets say you've had a paladin and a warlock, you stopped playing them as your main 1 year ago, and ever since then you leveled alts and only used these 2 80s as some 60/70raid fun, some fishing and ganking; nothing serious.

And now you plan that you start playing serious on these chars again, but you cant cause it doesnt feel like... you really own this char, it feels like only your puppet :s

**Like you roll a char, you plan to get him to 80, and then gear him up slowly and see all the heal/damage getting bigger and bigger, but when you stop in the middle ( and take a long break, while playing on other chars ) the char doesnt feel like you really played before, but you still like the class and want to play it so the only way to make it feel like its "getting better" or that it feels like its your char, and you knew him all over from lvl 1; is to start a new one and delete the current?

Or do you guys have it ezz mode to go back to your abandoned chars and make them your mains again, and actually feel its your char; really ?

any tips? Like deleting all gear and start over again from lvl 80 or ? :p

the simplest solution would be to start playing it again.

go do some quests, get a feel for the class mechanics again, then move onto instances or bg's, whichever floats your boat.

by the time you've farmed some pvp gear or heroic's, you'll start to feel attached to it again

This, pretty much, is what I would do. Getting into the feel of things just simply takes some time. That said, it depends a little on your play style and what classes you are trying to pick back up... sometimes people just simply prefer their newer play style and the older chars don't always play equally well with the same play style :]
